Bill Clinton: I would raise the debt limit and "force the courts to stop me"

Former President Bill Clinton said he would raise the nation's legal borrowing limit on his own if he had to and "force the courts to stop me" in order to prevent the United States from defaulting on its debt obligations for the first time in history.

Clinton said he thinks President Obama and Republicans on Capitol Hill are going to cut a deal before August 2, "and that's smart."

But "if it came to that," he would raise the debt ceiling using powers granted under the 14th amendment of the Constitution. The amendment says that the validity of the public debt shall not be questioned.

    Big Lie:

America will not default if the debt ceiling is not raised.

Clinton speak big when standing on the sidelines & can do nothing. He would not do what he says he would do. He is goading Obama.

We cannot continue to spend, spend, spend & raise, raise, raise the debt ceiling. It will all come crashing down.

I started a thread hoping to here some other people examples of Gov Waste. Didn't happen, but don't come to me with we need to raise taxes when Gov is wasting money hand over fist.

No, his good fortune while in office was due to the creation and expansion of the tech-bubble. He really didn't have much to do with that, tech entrepreneurs did.

Clinton had the benefit at being at the begining of the Federal Reserve printing all this money and credit out of thin air for the housing bubble. Let's not forget his last year in office when everything started to crumble.

I just want to hear someone say what needs to be said. And stop ignoring the 800 pound gorilla in the room. War and military spending!!!!! Both parties refuse to even touch that. Except for one guy out there........
