    Willis McGahee cut by Ravens

We have our first post-lockout transaction to pass along.

Okay, it wonít officially be a transaction until Thursday. But weíre going to hear a lot of reports of agreements, deals, and other planned player moves all week long before anything is official.

The first such report is no surprise: ESPNís Adam Schefter reports Willis McGahee has been informed he will be released by the Ravens. We included McGahee on our list of players likely to get cut because he has a $6 million salary and seemed unwilling to take a pay cut.

McGahee will make less money wherever he signs, but he becomes a solid option for teams looking for a backup running back.

what do you guys think? He would be a good pick up at the right price IMO

Heap, Mason, and Kelly Gregg were released too.

I want Heap. Badly. He can catch and block, and would be good for a year or two til we can draft a TE for the future.

he's pretty much a 5 carry guy at this stage...if he thinks he's worth good money go with god willis...
hoops scoops 2012 season ..."in 2014 ryan tannehill etches his name in stone amongst the games elite qbs"..."ryan tannehill and andrew luck will carry the afc for the next decade plus the way peyton manning and tom brady have this last decade plus"

Not the type of back we need.

Heap is broken. He can catch and block, I will give you that. But unfortunately, whenever he makes a catch or performs a block, he's out for half the season. Brittle.

I wouldn't even consider it. Solid veteran back, but we need a burner bad. I think Bush/Bradshaw is more the route we need to go.

we might not be able to afford a expensive back like bush, mcgahee might be the better option if he will negotiate a affordable price, + are you sure mcgahee aint no burner? from what i saw last year he still is a burner.

While Heap would be cheaper, I would rather have Zach Miller

I think Willis would make sense to sign if we don't resign Ricky or Ronnie and don't land Bradshaw or Williams

Everyone would rather have miller, but there is only one miller. I don't really want McGahee... would rather have bush, or bradshaw, or williams, or snelling.
