Just finished my first draft of the year. 12 Team League. Pretty standard scoring with QB passes worth 6 points (not 4).

    Starters:

    QB: Drew Brees
    RB1: Rashard Mendenhall
    RB2: Ahmad Bradshaw
    WR1: Wes Welker
    WR2: Stevie Johnson
    Flex: Deangelo Williams
    TE: Dustin Keller
    K: Adam Vinatieri
    Def: TB Bucs

    Bench:
    QB: Matt Cassell
    RB: Reggie Bush
    RB: LaDanian Tomlinson
    WR: Pierre Garcon
    WR: Austin Collie
    WR: Malcolm Floyd

I feel fairly confident coming out of the draft. I feel I am weak at my starting Wr spots, but I have strong depth here with the Colts receivers once Manning comes back. On the other hand, I feel I am decently strong with my starting RB's, but I worry about my depth with an aging LT and a possibly injury prone Bush. Tight ends went pretty early for some reason so I waited til the end and just grabbed what was left. I never feel like TE is worth taking very early as it seems I always end up grabbing a decent one off of waivers a few weeks into the season. Thanks for any feedback.

    Ok here we go.

QB - Grade B, you got my #9 and #10 QB's in an 8 team league. The good news is you got good depth and you could make a case for either of these guys to be in the lower end of the top 8. You should be able to play some good matchups weekly.

RB - Grade B+, really wanted to give you an A, your starters deserve that but you have no depth. Addai is borderline waiver wire material in a small league with small rosters and this scoring format. Plus you have a guy known to miss some games and already dinged in McFadden.

WR - Grade C+, total stud in Calvin Johnson, I like Boldin in what is a TD heavy league probably a litle more then some, your 3rd WR will likely end up being Britt, Driver is ok the rest aren't really worth a roster spot.

TE - Grade A+, two of the top 7 TE's, very nicely done.

Kicker - Grade A, Crosby is very solid and on a good offense.

Defense - honestly team defenses to me are a toss up, you have a traditional good one so you should be fine.

Overall I'll grade you out to a "B", you should be a contender for the playoffs and if your RB's stay healthy and you catch a little lighting in a bottle with your 3rd WR you might be able to make a deep playoof run.

Opinions on my team? ESPN 12 team league, 4 divisions:

    QB: john beck
    QB: Sam Bradford

    RB: LeSean McCoy
    RB: Knowshon Moreno
    RB: Michael Bush

    WR: Andre Johnson
    WR: Steve Johnson
    WR: AJ Green
    WR: Jacoby Ford
    WR: Danario Alexander

    TE: Owen Daniels
    TE: Jared Cook

    K: Neil Rackers
    K: Dan Carpenter

    Def: Pittsburgh
    Def: Miami

Im thinking Ryan has a big year last year, especially since he has Julio Jones opposite of White. Ryan did go more conservative than years past last season, but he now has a deep threat in Jones, so Im hoping he picks it up some. I think Bradford is going to have a very good year, and is a good backup plan to Ryan.

I might not have the studs, outside of AJ, but I do think I have consistency across the board. Steve Johnson and AJ Green are #1 receivers, and Ford and Alexander are speedsters who could be pretty good sleepers.

My two TEs are both their teams #1s, so Im hoping they get me some points too.

My choices at RB with second pick were either Mendenhall or McCoy. I was thinking about Mendenhall, and think I made a mistake, but its something I have to live with now. Moreno is a decent 2nd RB for me, and Bush seems to get a lot of touches near the goaline, so I hope he can get me some points.

Im happy with my kickers, and Im very happy with my defense. If the Fins defense can create some more TOs than last season, I think both of my Ds could be in the top five this year.

    Thoughts?

p.s. Im doing another one in Yahoo, with lesser comp, so Im hoping I can get some pointers from the more seasoned fantasy footballers here.

Ok....man that is alot of players.

QB - Grade B-, I like Big Ben but man you have nothing behind him unless Newton or Ponder develops into something. You may luck out with Garrard as a backup this year since Gabbert seems way behind but after this year you could be in trouble.

RB - Grade C, MJD is solid but starting to show a little wear and you don't have a current or future RB2 yet alone an RB1 on your roster. Your best hope is Bush gets a lot of check down passes this year. Hopefully those three 1st round picks next year can turn into one for you. I'd feel better if you had Rashard Jennings at least to back up MJD.

WR - Grade B, I like Mike Williams (TBB) a lot, I also like Steve Johnson to put up good numbers again this year. Harvin should be solid and Moss as WR4/Flex player is fine in this deep of a league.

TE - Grade A, I think Jimmy Graham will end up being your go to guy and put up some big numbers but Winslow is solid and under rated by many as well. Hernandez will be hit or miss but could have a couple big games and maybe you can trade him for som RB help.

DE - Grade B+, Peppers is a top 5 guys and Campbell is a solid starter, I'll be honest if I knew more about this position I might grade you higher based on depther but I play mostly in DL/LB IDP leagues so individual DL is not my strong suit.

LB - Grade B-, All are average to slightly above average fantasy guys, you don't have a tackling machine like a Willis or Beason that I like my LB's to be. You seem to have more the sack/turnover type player, if that is what you like I can't argue it.

DB - Grade D, I assume you could take safeties, as interceptions are even more unpredictable then sacks or forced fumbles to me you need to go after guys that get tackles here and that means safeties and a few CB's like a Charles Woodson.

K - Grade B, I think Brown is a solid kicker, should finish just inside the top 12 fantasy wise.

Overall - B- for this year, C going forward. I think if Bush does a few things you can be a decent team and compete this year. I hate the lack of RB depth going forward and you need a 2nd QB to emerge although not as much as RB. The good news is the lowest graded areas of LB and DB are usually areas guy emege in and maybe you can upgrade, the issue for you might be how many guys are already rostered.

12 team PPR league (1 point per reception). Only quirk is 1 point for every 3 completions by the QB. Otherwise, 6 pts for TD passes, rushing TD, and receiving TD. 1 point per 25 yards passing, 10 yds rushing, 10 yds receiving.

    Projected starters (1 QB, 2 RB, 2 WR, 1 Flex (RB/WR/TE), 1 TE, 1 K, 1 DST.

    QB Ben Roethlisberger
    RB1 Darren McFadden
    RB2 Jahvid Best
    WR1 Roddy White
    WR2 Mike Wallace
    Flex (RB3) Daniel Thomas
    TE Dallas Clark
    K Mason Crosby
    DST Saints

    Projected bench

    QB2 Matthew Stafford
    RB4 Roy Helu
RB5 Maurice Morris (handcuff to Best)
    WR3 A.J. Green
    WR4 Steve Breaston
    TE2 Tony Gonzalez
    Flex Dexter McCluster

This is a super competitive league that I've been in for 8 seasons. It's very rare (or never) that anyone is able to put together a superteam on draft day. Usually the lucky team with the top waiver wire position on that week someone comes out of nowhere, or really good free agent pick ups will carry someone to a championship game berth. Any comments or criticisms are more than welcome.

QB - Grade A, Shaub is a better fantasy QB then maybe an actual QB but great value in the 5th or 6th round likely where you got him. He'll be top 8 with top 5 upside.

RB - Grade B+, I'm not quite as high on Mendenhall as some but he is a top 10 back, same goes for Blount, some like him better but he is a serviceable RB2, but I do worry about Tampa falling back a little this year. Neither are flashy going to win the game on their own type guys. I love your depth however, Best and Jacobs gives you two solid guys for bye weeks or for a possible trade later if needed. Bush gets some touches and with a often dinged McFadden in front of him he could see a few games as a legit RB1.

WR - Grade A, Megatron and Jennings are an awesome 1-2 punch, Garcon is a decent WR3 as long as Manning is Healthy, he'll have his big games. The only thing keeping you from an A+ is some depth but nothing I'd be concerned about, I'd rather have the RB depth then WR depth. I like Little as a flyer pick by the way.

TE - Grade A, Witten might be the safest play of the top TE's, he'll get his share of catches and red zone looks.

K - Grade B, Carpenter is solid, all depends if the offense can get going but he should see a fair share of FG chances because Miami tends to be conservative.

    D - Grade A, they get sacks.

Overall - Grade A, you should easily make the playoffs and be one of the front runners.
