Thoughts on Ireland's first solo draft?

    1. Mike Pouncey
    2. Daniel Thomas
    4. Clyde Gates
    6. Charles Clay
    7. Frank Kearse
    7. Jimmy Wilson

Obviously, we won't know how successful this class was until a few more years, but as of now, it looks pretty damn solid. Except for Kearse, all have contributed in some way, and many have been some of the best performers on the team. Pouncey, Thomas and Clay have really stood out this year and Wilson / Gates have had their moments.

The coaches need to play Gates more to evaluate him. He seems to be coming on just a little more every week. Perhaps he has needed more time than the other rookies. I hope Gates will turn into a deep threat as our starting receiver. But a solid draft for sure.

It looked good today. Have to give him credit. Even better if Clay could have caught today.

Add the Bush move and not overpaying broke foot Bradshaw along with KB and it was a pretty good offseason.

I was thinking about that on the way home; it keeps looking better and better, especially when you add Reggie with the mindset to make him an every down back, and add Burnett, who's obviously getting his sea legs under him and looked pretty damn good today. Then of course there's signing Matt Moore, who Jake said commands the huddle and who kept going around to attaboy his OL on the sidelines. He's coming off as a legitimate vocal leader. It could have been Orton (probably would have been if not for Ross), McNabb, Vince Young or even trading the farm for Kolb, AJ Feeley 2.0.

I'm beginning to think that unless Cowher comes in wanting his own people, Ross likes Ireland will keep him while replacing Tony.

And then you throw in the terrible preparation and in-game coaching. There is no defense.

I had my doubts, but this draft is getting better and better every week.

its without a doubt the best draft of this regime.....we're actually getting production from the early picks, as well as the late ones.
