    The patriots were held together with sticks and glue. They got as far as they did because of Brady and Gronk .

    These are the sunset years for Brady and Belichick. They have 3 more years of being competitive, and then its time for the rise of the Dolphins.

    That has not been the norm this past decade:



    Of the 3 teams you mentioned that were the exceptions, only the Cardinals improved their record the following year and made it to the divisional round. The other 2 were 1 and done in the WC round.
