You would be the guy that would bash the **** out of the FO if they drafted a lineman and Tannehill went on to become a Top 10 QB somewhere else a few years down the road. That much, I am positive of!
Rodgers was drafted in the 20's to a team that already had Brett Favre as the starter. Big difference than what the Dolphins situation is.

    Cam Newton
Blaine Gabbert ----- putting him on this list only adds proof that guys need to sit.

Not half of your list of guys who started, obviously weren't ready or were thrown in too soon and are now paying for it, or just now starting to come around.
"I didn't feel like we had to score," Tannehill said. "I had the mindset we were going to score."

I'm in Boston for the weekend on business - had a friend pick me up from South Station and got in the car right as the Tannehill pick came in Thursday night - the radio couldn't wait to rip into the Dolphins for the "HUGE REACH". I was entertained, but in a Lou Dobbs you-make-me-want-to-change-the-channel kind of way.

and if we'd drafted someone else at 8 they couldn't wait to bash us for passing on the most important position on the field. **** them. I dont' give a **** we made the right decision, we drafted a QB first and then drafted for other needs, then got a value pick in the 4th, then picked up the rest of our needs.

    Sorry to hear that.
I just try to be myself, whatever that is. I don't think about how I'll be remembered. I just want to be consistent over a long period of time. That's what the great players do.

JaMarcus Russell (moreso his own fault, but I'll put him here)

As you can see, more often than not, a top-10-drafted QB starts a game in his rookie season. Those who sit have either been busts or the jury is still out (Rivers and Carson Palmer before him are the exceptions, but I'm picking 2004 as the line of demarcation because the rules that benefit the QB were put in place after the Patriots clutched and grabbed their way to a second Super Bowl). The jury may still be out on some of QBs who have started a game in their rookie seasons, but there's no doubting that A. most of them did have at least 1 start and B. you're more likely to hit on a QB that you can get to start in his rookie season than if you sit him, ESPECIALLY with the rules protecting the QB and receivers these days.
Big Ben was not a Top 10 draft pick. He was the 11th selection that year.

Matt Leinart started 11 games as a rookie.

like a lot of drafts we will know how well this one was in 2-3 seasons. If Tannehill can win the starting job (not just have it given to him), Lamar Miller holds up, J Martin locks down the RT position and our TE and/or WR makes it, we will look pretty smart.

Draft grades and winners and losers don't mean a thing for a few years.
