    Draft Miami's Unofficial UDFA list

Jonas Gray, RB, Notre Dame, 5'10", 225

Overview - Gray is a thick running back who has been a reliable short-yardage rotational playe,; a role that seems likely for him in the NFL. He hasn't played much special teams for Notre Dame, but he will undoubtedly need to perform this role at the next level to stick on a roster. With his size, look for him to not only get goal-line carries but also be a presence on coverage teams; he has the type of body to play numerous roles. He was shelved for the final month of his collegiate career due to a knee injury, and he will need to show he can recover adequately throughout the pre-draft process. http://www.nfl.com/draft/2012/profil...ray?id=2533030

Jonas Gray Just signed a free agent deal with the Miami Dolphins!!!!!

Jacquies Smith, DE, Missouri, 6'3", 253

Overview - Smith is an impressive prospect who is slightly undersized. He is a very instinctual player who knows how to diagnose a play. He started for two years and has speed that will translate to the next level. At this point he has late-round value with the potential to rise in the pre-draft process as he displays his speed. He can get to the quarterback and provide pressure while still remaining a factor in the run game. http://www.nfl.com/draft/2012/profil...ith?id=2533005

Armando Salguero Mizzou DE Jacqueis Smith signs an undrafted free agent contract with the Dolphins, according to source.

Derek Moye, WR, Penn State, 6'5", 204

Overview - Moye was a three-year starter at Penn State, where he used his size against smaller defenders and made plays in the deep game and the red zone. He has decent speed but is a build-up strider who could really be effective downfield at the next level. He struggles against man press coverage and could stand to put some weight on a rather thin frame. http://www.nfl.com/draft/2012/profil...oye?id=2533335

Armando Salguero Another UDFA... RT @MinkNate: Just got word #PennState WR Derek Moye will sign as undrafted free agent with the Miami Dolphins
Chas Alecxih, DT, Pittsburgh, 6'4", 296

Overview - Alecxih was a former walk-on who earned a scholarship at Pitt. He has size for the position and could even be moved outside to end in a 3-4 scheme based on his athletic ability. He is savvy when playing both the run and pass and is a reliable and productive tackle. He is effective in all areas but not great in any. He has third- or fourth-round talent as a big body up front. http://www.nfl.com/draft/2012/profil...xih?id=2532785

Ben Volin Pitt DT RT @JDiPaola_Trib: Pitt's Chas Alecxih says he will sign with Dolphins after his agent fielded 13 phone calls from NFL teams
    Jeff Fuller, WR, Texas A&M, 6'4", 223

Overview - Fuller has started games in each of his four years at Texas A&M and was a go-to option for future NFL quarterback Ryan Tannehill in the past two seasons. Fuller is a tall, well-built receiver who makes good plays across the field despite being a slow-mover and seldom being able to get away from defenders. He doesn't show much ability running after the catch or blocking in the run game, and he can struggle when trying to get off the line. He also had an injury-filled senior year in which he dealt with a nagging hamstring. Fuller has some serious hitches in his game, but he is a reliable option once he is in-route and the ball is coming his way. http://www.nfl.com/draft/2012/profil...ler?id=2532844

Kelcie McCray, SS, Arkansas State, 6'1", 202

Overview - McCray is a big, physical safety who could develop into a future starter in the NFL in the right scheme. A former high school quarterback, McCray is able to key in on plays as a safety and make the pre-snap reads to put himself in good position. He has the size to cover tight ends and the physicality to be a presence on the back end. http://www.nfl.com/draft/2012/profil...ray?id=2533340

Kelcie McCrayDidn't get drafted but thanks to everybody that's was rooting for me and praying for me.. Headed to play for the Miami dolphins tho..

Shelly Lyons, LB, Arizona State, 6'2", 238

    Overview - http://www.nfl.com/draft/2012/profil...ons?id=2534885

Ben Volin Arizona State LB RT @RTechmagazine: cONGRATS TO MY COUSIN SHELLY THOMAS LYONS THE THIRD!!! YOU ARE A MIAMI DOLPHIN NOW!!!!!!!
Dustin Waldren, OT, Portland State, 6'5", 305

Overview - Waldron is an NFL prospect from Big Sky member Portland State, making a name for himself through speed and athletic ability. Though he is somewhat undersized, Waldron has been working on getting stronger, and his ability to anchor no longer seems to be a weakness. He is an extremely smart player. http://www.nfl.com/draft/2012/profil...ron?id=2532967

Ben VolinPortland State OT RT @TenaciousJane: RT @CoachBurton_PSU: Congrats to PSU's Dustin Waldron on signing with the #Dolphins! #rollviks!
Cameron Collins, LB, Oregon State, 6'3", 241

    Overview
    - http://www.nfl.com/draft/2012/profil...ins?id=2534826

Ben Volin Oregon State LB RT @BrandonSprague: Am being told that Cam Collins is headed for Miami to try and make the Dolphins.

Derek Dennis, OG, Temple, 6'3", 315

Jonas Gray, RB, Notre Dame, 5'10", 225
A thick, well-put together back with good girth through his base and legs. Showcases an average first step when asked to press the hole and is at his best working the zone runs where he can feel his way toward the edge and pick his ally down the line. Exhibits good one cut ability, drops his pad level, has a bit of s burst, makes himself small, and can get up the field. Showcases a natural feel in this aspect of the game, runs hard in the second level and can be tough to bring down. However, looks a bit tight in the hips and isn't the kind of sudden lateral athlete who can routinely create on his own if a defender squares him up. To his credit does exhibit good foot quickness for his size, but isn't real sudden laterally and doesn't exhibit much in the form of acceleration when trying to create when he side steps a defender.

Gets a bit upright when trying to run power down by the goal line and press the line of scrimmage quickly. Will drop his pad level when finishing runs, but too often gets upright and exposes his frame into contact. Ball security has always been an issue for him and he has a tendency to put the football on the ground. Isn't a burner, looks like a high 4.5 guy and despite creating some big plays for the Notre Dame offense as a senior, doesn't possesses the kind of explosion to be a big play guy at the next level.

Impression: Looks most comfortable as a zone guy, but is limited with his initial burst and ability to make defenders miss. However, has a good feel picking his way through traffic and runs hard once he sees daylight creating yards through contact.

Jacqueis Smith, DE, Missouri, 6'3", 253
Possesses a solidly built athletic looking frame with the growth potential to add even more girth and without losing any athleticism. He isn't a real natural bender though, struggling to coil up low into his stance and letting his butt sit upright. Looks leggy trying to coil up and gets a noticeable arch in his back. He consistently gets upright off the football in both the run and pass game. Possesses a natural burst to his game when trying to shoot gaps inside as a DT, but he isn't nearly as impressive off the ball on the edge. He has the burst to threaten the edge, but plays slowly because of his higher pad level off the ball, exposing his entire frame into contact. He doesn't extend his long arms at all in order to slip blocks. He exhibits some natural short area quickness, but is routinely jolted on his pass rush because of his high pad level. Isn't real physical on contact, and doesn't exhibit much of a bull rush or the ability to anchor vs. the run game. When he wants to be physical, he will routinely lead with his shoulder and fails to disengage from blocks.

Doesn't use his hands well to keep his legs clean when trying to work from the backside and too often ends up on the ground in pursuit. He also doesn't have the natural anchor strength or leverage to set the edge. Consistently allows offensive tackles to get into and under his frame and wash him out of the play or seal him from the action.

Impression: An intriguing looking DE prospect with some natural athleticism and closing speed, but he struggles out of his stance and does play as dynamic as his athletic skill set says he should. Looks more like an underachieving reserve at this stage.

Shelly Lyons, LB, Arizona State, 6'2", 238

Shelly Lyons, OLB, Arizona State: Lyons is a late round OLB prospect that could very well go undrafted, but I think that his combination of solid size at 6’2”, 228 pounds, reliable tackling and solid coverage warrants at least 7th round or undrafted free agent consideration. I think he could be a quality special teamer that eventually finds himself as a back-up on a NFL roster. I’m not sure he will ever be a starter, but he can make a career out of being a special teams player if he wants to at least in my opinion.
