Bill Belichick on "putting the tape on"
Even after all of this, even after a former FBI agent made the report, after the school signed off on an open investigation.....i have little doubt people will still be defending Paterno.
And Paterno, even in death, didnt seem to get what he did was wrong. He wrote a damn letter about protecting the football and academic legacy to be opened after his death. What a complete scumbag.
http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/eye-on-...ons-unanswered"Ignorance is not an excuse" were the words Goodell used when describing why those involved in the Saints bounty scandal would not avoid punishment.
Like I said, there's something off about these small town people who live an hour from a grocery store. They're just wired improperly. Things like this happen unfortunately. Really hate to think about other similar happenings across America in these small towns.
Actually the vast majority of PSU fans at scout.com have changed their opinion on Paterno. There are a few that still defend him and there always will be. But most are now seeing Paterno for what he was. A self centered idiot that allowed a predator to victimize children. Great leaders do the right thing no matter the cost. Paterno failed miserably in the most important decision in his career.
I honestly didn't think anything in the report could shock me, but I was wrong. I knew it was bad and I knew Paterno was part of the cover-up, but I couldn't imagine how bad it was.
The NCAA is a joke. Would anybody be shocked if they punish another school for "paying" the players that bring the schools millions (billions over the years) before they ever touch this far worse offense? It's a sad day when UM is more likely to get punished for what it did than Penn State is for covering up CHILD RAPE.
That statue of Joe Pa BETTER be torn down soon...thats a start.
The statue isn't going anywhere. This is a school where students were more pissed off about scrutiny against Paterno than they were about children being raped on their campus.
