"Politics is the Art of Looking for Trouble, Finding it Everywhere, Diagnosing it Incorrectly, and Applying the Wrong Remedies"
it seems that's the job of "media" and i lump them all in together, whether it's print, tv, internet, radio, billboards, in this case, is to polarize the country. there seems to be no middle ground anymore. it's either you're with us or you're against us. it's all in or all out. that will be the downfall of this country. nobody seems to be a moderate these days. everything seems to be pulling the people to the extremes, even our friends and brothers are taking sides, often different ones.
there just doesn't seem to be any common courtesy or common sense anymore. because as soon as someone says something others don't agree with, it's attack city. there is no logic, reason or even intelligence in a lot of arguments, just making it us against them, no matter the question or answer.
I really don't know how you'd get around not doing anything if you were POTUS.
FDR had WWII
Truman had WWII
Eisenhower had Korea, escalated the Cold War, ran the CIA like John Gotti.
Kennedy had the Cuban Missile Crisis and got Vietnam started.
LBJ had 'Nam
Nixon had Vietnam, Israel vs. the Middle East '73, and a few others.
Carter had the Iranian Hostage Crisis and funded the Mujahadeen in Afghanistan.
Reagan had Lebanon, Grenada, the Cold War, which included financing the Mujahadeen in Afghanistan, as well as Iran-Iraq. Bombed Libya too.
Bush I had Kuwait
Clinton had Kosovo and the bombings of Iraq to take attention away from things
Bush II had Afghanistan and Iraq
Obama's gotten rid of Iraq, built up Afghanistan, and done a bunch of **** covertly, which the others have too.
Every president sends troops somewhere, fighting with somebody, and it's been mostly since WWII, when we became the world's superpower. Even before that we had military entanglements with one side or the other. Obama's no different than his predecessors.
The only way we'd get our noses out of **** would be if we suddenly decided we're bored with playing King of the Ring. The United States is a country that worships its military, a lot like Rome back in the day. There's also a ton of money to be made in war and ****ing places up, we wouldn't be doing it if people weren't getting rich off of it.
We'd be well off closing bases overseas and doing a little re-aligning. With the money saved, we could use it to beef up a GI bill or tax breaks or something.
My point is, no one you're ever going to elect is going to do any different. It's just the way things are.
I dont think the billboard goes far enough!

I think the billboard is ****ing stupid. And I don't like Obama as POTUS...
If you criticized the Iraq war you have a clean slate. But this ad was put up by people who wholeheartedly support the Iraq war and that makes it wrong.
Unfortunately there has been no President and will be no President who would go against main stream America who has the the need and wish to continue wars. Plus the military industry has too much power in this country.
Honestly, it's Idaho.
The President is a black Democrat. they don't like black people in Idaho (trust me, I lived next door to that state for years and years), much less Democrats, and that's most of the root of their angst with the current CoC. Not saying everyone in Idaho is a Democrat hating racist, but they've got their fair share of people there like that. Check out some of the stories from the Idaho panhandle sometime, you'll see what I'm talking about.
I'm not saying everyone who doesn't like Obama doesn't like him because he's black, but that's part of the reason you see this virulent, misplaced anger/aggression towards the prez. It's not surprising to me. Of course, not liking the dude because he's black and a democrat doesn't make them awful people, they're more than entitled to their bizarre hatred/anger, but it just makes them look like the provincial mountain rubes that they are, and gives everyone living in the Mountain West a bad name.
The irony is, most of those people that bitch about his drone campaign there are the same ones you see that have 150 yellow ribbon magnets all over their car, claiming "freedom isn't free" and acting all gung-ho about our military ops overseas. They're more than likely the same people that feverishly support a protracted bombing campaign against Iran.
