    The MLB Trade Deadline Thread

    Victorino to LA
    Pence to SF
Marlins trying to dump Carlos Lee
Dempster's close to being traded to LA
    Geovany Soto to the Rangers

There's obviously been a few more, but these are all going down now-ish.

Pence to SF hasn't happened. They're just talking, but no deal has been done.

They say it's done out here, just need the physicals to pass.

Schierholtz, Tommy Joseph, and probably a pitcher are going to Philly.

Ok, I haven't heard that back here in Philly. I'll be surprised if the Phils trade Victorino and Pence in the same day.

Third guy's a single-A pitcher from Oregon State that's playing for the San Jose Giants right now.

    Hunter Pence traded for:

Nate Schierholtz, Tommy Joseph, and Seth Rosin.

    It's official.

I'm really surprised. I didn't think the Phil's would trade Pence. Victorino wasn't much of a surprise, but I thought they would keep Pence around for another year.

Anyway, that's a good pickup for the Giants. They get a bat to go along with a lineup that's was already pretty good.

Must be taking cues from the Marlins.

I guess, at least we won something in the last few years. Now it's another period of mediocre to bad Phillies baseball.
