    Dilfer on Nick Foles

There are too many Tweets to cut and paste. However, I have to say that Dilfer makes a compelling case to consider Foles. I liked him coming into this year, but he fell off the radar. Maybe time to reconsider.

The kid is rugged at 6'5 and 240. I love hearing assessments that he is accurate. That and leadership mean most to me.

Players can fall off the radar playing out west sometimes.

Western players falling off the radar? No. Its a time zone difference & the powers that be deciding that regional action is best.

I became intrigued by Foles last yr & even started a thread stating the phins would draft him in the late 1st round (see if I'm that optimistic again).

NF has skills and is more the prototypical NFL QB than RG3.

I like Foles a lot. The team around him is average. He finds ways to move the football down the field with average talent. Gaudy numbers in college football mean nothing. You have to look at dudes who do a lot with very little and Foles is one of those dudes.

If the Dolphins end up missing a chance to draft one of the top-tier guys, maybe Foles, Tannehill or Weeden could be had in the 2nd? Actually, despite not playing well lately, I do expect Tannehill to go in the first. I do also believe that Miami and Washington will make a play for Luck and/or Barkley in a move up trade. So we'll see. Wouldn't mind taking someone like David DeCastro or Vontaze Burflick in round 1 and then getting a qb in round 2. We just need to find the right guy whoever that may be.

I think it's the fact that his team is 3-8 and his HC got fired led to him falling. Tough to think of him in the top tier when his teams are losing to Colorado and Utah. Obviously not all his fault, but he's got to lead his teams over garbage teams like that. Good arm but not mobile and get's sacked a lot. I can see him being effective, but you better have an awesome O line.

I was big on Foles before the season, but he has not validated that thinking this season. I thought he would be a 1st rounder, but he's not a first day pick.

You need guys like Foles who knows what it's like to lose and play from behind early and often. The NFL has too much parity. Guys like Barkley and Luck aren't used to losing so it's something new to them. A guy like Foles is accustomed to it and isn't rattled by it as much.

Agreed. Criner (WR) & Antolin (RB) have been the only skill players worth anything for UAz this yr.

FWIW... Osweiler (a junior) @ Az St is one to consider for the 2013 draft
