Bill Belichick on "putting the tape on"
Jets Insider might be even better than Gang Green since the posters there are a lot more rational and realistic about their team. Wow...
Employ the Colts 2011 strategy. Yes, I hate to say this but tank the next 4 months to position the organization for the #1 pick in a deep QB draft. The game centers around QB play. If we can get our franchise QB for the next decade+plus with a young emerging defense and plenty of cap room along the way (not to mention an aging Tammy), the Jets can position themselves, properly, to be the dominant team in the AFCE for the next decade. Therefore, I am willing to sacrifice the next 4 months for the next 10/12 years.
They have already given up on Geno Smith
This sig in memory of 'Crazylegs' Elroy Hirsch. Go. Packers.
Ohhh the JESTS. This will be a very fun season indeed WV.
Here's nyjunc's reaction
I love that this has become one of the cornerstone threads of Finheaven. Thanks go to WVDolphan and the Jests.
Looks like the Jets are going to bring in Matt Leinart and John Beck in for workouts...This show just keeps getting better and better.
Remember when Tim Tebow was the story in New York. Seems like decades ago, right? But that manufactured drama doesn't come close to what Rex Ryan is currently facing after deciding to send Mark Sanchez onto the field in the fourth quarter of a meaningless preseason game only to watch the quarterback injure his throwing shoulder.
Geno Smith's debut as a starter included three interceptions and a safety, as well as the realization that he's not ready for the full-time gig. Except now, because Sanchez has one working limb, the Jets might not have choice.
The Jets will kick the tires on Matt Leinart and John Beck, according to Gil Brandt of SiriusXM NFL Radio (by way of PFT). But the two quarterbacks, who never did much in their first go-rounds in the NFL, are suddenly in demand: The Bills will reportedly work them out, too, after losing Kevin Kolb to concussion-like symptoms in Saturday's preseason game.
-Dan MarinoI just try to be myself, whatever that is. I don't think about how I'll be remembered. I just want to be consistent over a long period of time. That's what the great players do.
Imagine the Bills and Jets are competing for Leinert and Beck
http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/eye-on-...ons-unanswered"Ignorance is not an excuse" were the words Goodell used when describing why those involved in the Saints bounty scandal would not avoid punishment.
Maybe they can sign Tebow when the Patriots cut him.
