In Webster's Dictionary, 'hope' is defined as follows: the act of observing a fact that nyjunc really, really, really wants to be false
I'm here to tell the truth about top secret Air Force project BAR STOOL. Gamma ray radiation from the particle accelerator under Joe Robbie Stadium is real! Get out while you can! This bad football team is just a front for something far more sinister!

Ive posted this before but some guy on TGG put it perfectly. His perception isnt based on reality or anything close to it. Its based solely on what he really, really, really wants to happen or be reality and that is completely due to his irrational fandom. Instead of taking the most logical conclusion or reasoning on things, his homerism causes him to convolute the information, sometimes laughably so, to such a degree where he tries to make it fit with his pre-ordained conclusion. Thats why he tries to use arbitrary and non-qualitative things as the basis for his twisted reasoning and anything that counters his arguement is brushed away with insubstantial narrative and rhetoric.

anyhoo. here is that wonderful post that describes him to a tee

In order to make this model work, he had the Sun and Planets moving in unnatural ways, appearing to slow down, stop, and even seem to move backwards at some points. In order to explain this unnatural motion, he came up with a very intricate sysytem of movement which he explained using things called deferents and epicyclyes. Its very complicated, but you can look it up.
Of course he was completely wrong, and the much simpler explanation ... and also the actual truth, was that the Sun was at the center of our solar system, and the planets moved in very simple, logical orbits around it. There was really no reason to jump through hoops and invent ways to make his theory work, other than the fact that he wanted it to be true. He wanted the Earth to be at the center, and he was going to find a way to make it look that way.
You remind me of that guy.
Enough of the ridiculous numbers, half-assed logic and convoluted explanations as to why buttfumble isn't really a terrible QB.
Just accept the fact that the man SUCKS. He can't play the position.
It's very simple and it's the way it is. All anyone has to do is use their eyes and accept what they see in front of them.

Mods, can we change nyjunc's title from "Hall of Famer" to "Butt Fumble"?

Lol. Yeah my other favorite comment on junc over at TGG was during a discussion of ESPN's QBR system, they discussed how statistics like 'overthrown balls' were subjective. When another poster asks how that can be subjective, the guy explains it by saying "You might say that the ball was overthrown, but junc will say that the receiver forgot to bring a stepladder and a net."

He's been awful this year but no QB would have success w/ our healthy talent.

No we weren't, you needed 3 or 4 teams to lose out, we needed 1 team to lose out or a combo of the other 2 teams. If we won out it was realistic we'd make it, it's not relaictis for you guys at 8-8.

David Carr never had success on the field and the cap hit would be too big if we cut him.
What exact sucess has the Taco had? Oh that's right, he got to, and lost two AFC Championship games on the backs of a Top 5 defense and a future mortgaged on the trades of draft picks for aging stars and high priced free agents. That's over now, whatever slim window the Jets had to compete for a Super Bowl with a bottom 5 starting QB is now done.

I don't expect the Dolphins to make the playoffs but in order for them to do so, they need Cincy to lose their last 2, Pittsburgh to drop 1, and the Jets to lose one more game. Nowhere in those needs does it say 3 or 4 teams need to lose out.

The Jets on other hand were also chasing the Bengals, Steelers, and needed the Dolphins to lose games.

Only to you would the situations be drastically different to make it seem like the Jets didn't need as much help as the Dolphins did.

I watched the game. he doesn't have great WRs, but umm, he had open WRs in the game on big passes that he threw to the left or right, just for 3 yard check downs. And not to mention his way overthrown pass that was intercepted. buttfumble sucks
