That's presnap, when Schaub's releasing and at catch time. Note he's a good 10 yards away from the receiver when he catches it. Again, I understand single high is a pretty tough spot but you simply can't allow it. There's time when the Texans exploited this too, with the underneath defender being a LB (usually Koa Misi). Now you can second guess putting Misi to cover *anyone*, and it's fair, but if you're designing a play and there's a chance Misi's ending up in that spot, you have to give him some support over the top. Giving up the big play in lieu of the huge one is not much of a tradeoff.

That play, btw, came on 3rd and 10. They had them.
I'm glad you mention Misi in coverage...Just watching him try to cover a TE is just soo wrong! He just doesn't have that skill set, arugably non of our Lbs do, Misi being the least skill at that particular task. Also why is it against us the middle of the field ALWAYS seem wide open? I've watch other team and it's like 50 people are around the middle of field not allowing or at least, minimizing any kind of Seam Route by TEs, not us!

I'm also happy to hear what you said about S.Smith on coverage against Dre, Smith really had good coverage and possibly could have helped himself a bit more by putting his body into him to face the incoming ball. Eitherway, few realize this is night and day for him compared to a few year ago! I easily perdict this is going to be his greatest season thus far.

I have the NFL rewind. Its $40 for the one I have. 60 for all the coaches' tape but its not like watching all the 22. I like listening to the broadcast too. So far, I've watched about 6 condensed versions just watching for some of my ffl players. Its pretty good though.

Yeah, Misi is a serious liability in coverage. He's pretty good against the run, and he *can* cover short zones effectively, but asking him to go mtm against the likes of Owen Daniels without S help is preposterous. We actually do have a good coverage LB: Dansby. He went mtm multiple times, no issues. Burnett is adequate but not optimal.

As for Smith... Haven't seen film from him of previous seasons. Sounds like a fun bye week project, lol. But he did cover quite well this week at least.

What do you mean it's not like watching all the 22?

chris clemons issues aren't about pedaling from the jump in single high...they're about a lack of awareness and feel for the passing game and a lack of instincts and ball skills...none of which does he possess...
I tend to believe this. Instincts in football are huge. They make up for whatever speed you lack or injury you may have lingering. If after three years you cannot feel or sense something and see it just play it like its your life on the line, then you just wont get it.

That said, Clemons does have opportunity's to make plays and in the past, just doesnt make it happen. His most recent sighting was preseason vs. Atlanta where he makes textbook tackle causing fumble and recovering it after huge run. Also, the playing deep just makes me think that was the gameplan for him. Bend dont break. But problem is, we had to cover Johnson in red zone.
