    I've had some great animals.. but far and away the smartest, most well-behaved, protective, playful, affectionate and endearing one I ever had was a female Aussie. Still miss her... and would recommend the breed (hopefully through a rescue group) to most anyone.

    I picked this particular stock pic not only for the coloration of which there are many, but because people were always asking "Is she really smiling at me?" (yes!)
