My main problem with him is definitely his poor vision...its like night and day between him and reggie. Reggie hits a hole quick Thomas just runs into the back of our linemen

Thomas was effective in his first two games last year, and easily outplayed Bush, it was only his hamstring injury that kept him from running away with the bulk of carries. Regardless of the production, all we ever heard from both staffs is that they wanted him to be more "physical", that they thought he wasn't using his size, etc. Now when I see Thomas get the ball, I see him making the most baffling cuts I can imagine, and I can see him running into defenders that he could clearly get past without them being able to wrap up. It seems as if Thomas is running the way he was lead to believe the staff wanted him to run, which is physical, but the only problem is that it's not productive and is hardly generating any yards when he touches the ball.

The Daniel Thomas of week two and three last year would have been much more productive.
Yea everyone just wants to rip Ireland for DT but the kid produced the beginning of last season then th whammy and it has been backwards from there and BOTH staffs are doing the same thing with the kid so you have to wonder. If the kid could do that last year there was some talent there.

if he got the carries he'd be fine. he's a rhythm runner, better in the fourth quarter than in the first. but, sharing carries with reggie and occasionally miller, he isn't going to be able to show what he's got. still like him as a player in this league.

DT avoids the cardinal mistake of this running game. DT doesn't go backwards. Bush on the other hand plays "hero ball" and ends up losing way too many yards.

In the end neither DT nor Bush are long term answer at RB.

Miller has a chance, but he needs to prove himself first.

I'll admit to getting nervous handing the ball off to DT deep in our own territory. I'm just glad when he doesn't fumble it. Lamar must be deep in the doghouse. There must be zero faith in his ability to pass protect. Despite his size, DT isn't a natural powerback, but I think he realizes that's his role and he's working at it.

he hit the hole very hard today... ask maualuga...
that maualuga hit would have caused Thomas to fumble 98% of the time....maybe he is fixing his fumbleitis

I think he's doing enough to string along on The team as a #2. He can take 8 snaps a game while Miller gets his blocking down, won't bother me if he keeps the ball off the carpet.

in 165 carries in 2011, daniel thomas fumbled 2 times, losing 1.

so far in 2012, he got hit so hard he was out the rest of the game and the following week with a concussion, fumbled and lost the ball. the second fumble he had, although i agree he should have secured the ball better, replay showed he was down and we were screwed by the officials (seems to be a recurring theme, especially today. so many bad calls against us).

    he isn't a fumbler.
