PFF- Dolphins Team Ranks & Grades

I posted the player ranks from PFF before. Here's a more detailed ranking and grade for all aspects of what the Dolphins team has done in 6 games. Compare it to the player ranks if ya like.

    On O:

Overall- #26, with a grade of Minus 3.9

Pass- #21, grade of Plus 8.3

Run- #27, grade of Minus 4.1

Pass Protect- #19, grade of +3.5

Run Block- #26, grade of -12.4

    Penalty- #16, grade of +0.8
    __________________________________________________

    On D:

Overall- #2, with a grade of Plus 70.3 (only Seattle is better)

    Run D- #3, grade of +36.2

Pass Rush- #3, grade of +16.0

Pass Coverage- #5, grade of +13.0

    Penalty- #3, grade of +5.1
    _________________________________________

Special Teams- #3, grade of 27.7

I believe these rankings are very fair, and on the money in what we have seen from our team so far this year. Agree or Disagree?

I dont beleive we're top-5, but average wise we're not bad at all. I think we're the team with the most pass attemps against, so the total yardage against this unit is going to be high when taking this into consideration...

I know we ran the ball like crap in the Rams game, but I would think we'd rank a little higher than #27 in the run game.

I watch every game at least twice, and thought our D would be Top 5 in preseason. They have exceeded expectations in coverage and the pass rush. Coyle has done an outstanding job. To be fair, we only played one VG O, in Houston, and the secondary is gonna have to tighten it up some for Brady, the only Great QB left on the schedule.

Other than Carp's misses, and a few questionable returns from Thigpen, the ST's have been Great.

On O, Tannehill has pretty much SHOCKED the Phins World. Say no more. Everything else has been a work in progress. Sherman and Philbin have their work cut out for them. From what I have seen, so far, they have corrected mistakes, and now have to make some adjustments to what opposing teams have adjusted to.

They do not have the talent to work with compared to Coyle but, I do believe they will get as much as is possible out of what we have. When you have a VG QB, it does make things a whole lot easier.

DAMN, first time I've said that since Marino.

It happens when you look at CB's, S's, and LB coverage on 60+ plays a game over a 6 game span, as opposed to giving up some big plays on a number of snaps. Pick a player and a game, and I'll be happy to give you a run down.

The pass D is grading out so high with adjusted stats because they are not giving up TD's. They have been giving up a **** load of yards but have only given up 11 TD's on D 7 or which are passing TD's good for 6th overall in the league.

Seems hard to believe but it is what it is.

Good point. Teams can't run and have to pass, and have to consider who we played against. Take Clemons last week for an example. He got beat on a 65 yarder, and gave up two other completions, 1 for 1 yard, and the other for -3. The rest of the game, he was not thrown at, and from what I saw in re-watching the game, had his man covered.

The OL has not been opening up running lanes like they did last year, while adapting to the zone blocking. Take away Bush's 65 yard run early, which was mostly him, and we are not average. DT has struggled in the new system, as have Long and Cog. Jerry has been average, and Martin is learning.
