Just got around to listening to it all. I started this thread to save it for later to hear it all tonight after the kids are in bed;-)

    some tidbits:

Look like we'll be seeing a lot more of Charles Clay out there (we need his athleticism vs some of the very shoddy and stiff LB's we'll be seeing over the next few weeks). And Coyle used the bye week to study up on Houston's innate ability to deflect balls, and expanding on it by incorporating more emphasis on this in practices (not only for the d-linemen, but also for all the LB's and the blitzers from the secondary)

    interesting

I remember I was sold 100% all in on Philbin when one of the first things he addressed was how relative QB efficiency is perhaps the greatest indicator of success. True to his word, our OQBR is 77.5 (better than half of the league's top-10 pass D's based on yardage). Tannehill's QBR is 76.5. With only one point separating the two, it's no wonder we're 3-3. Tannehill's QBR is trending up. Toss out the first two weeks, and this is his progression: 50.2, 86.5, 92.3, and 112. Obviously, he's not going to continue trending up until he plays perfect games every week, but we're winning games now because the QB efficiency is swinging in our favor, and it should continue to do so for most of the year.

When putting together his coaching staff, I was really impressed with the Coyle hire. For a new head coach to give a guy his first shot at DC, to me it indicated that Philbin will always favor the right choice over the easy choice. He had an understanding of Coyle as a coach, and he liked the philosophy he brought to the table. Philbin has shown this in other areas - agreeing to do Hard Knocks. If you do believe Philbin really wanted to do the show (I'm undecided), that's putting your neck out there from the get. With Miami trending up, I wouldn't be surprised to see Hard Knock's as a helpful recruiting tool from some of those mid-level FA's.

Just a very exciting time to be a Miami fan.

And Joe Philbin is one funny dude. People who see him as a boring guy . . . well, maybe they're not the most detail-oriented folk. The bit where he was responding to the question about his players hungry to get back to practice made me lulz.
