Question Dolphins break franchise record for keeping opposing running back under 100 yards

By holding Shonn Greene to 77 yards on Sunday the Dolphins have now held the opposing rushers under 100 yards for 21 straight games.
There was a point on Sunday after Greene broke off the long run that i thought the streak was in jeopardy. But being down big the Jets could stick to the running game.

The last rusher to crack the century mark was Ben Tate of the Texans last year in week 2, He rushed for 103 yards.

Here is a link to an article earlier this year that shows our streak at 16, The previous franchise best was in 2002 to 2003 and was 20 games.

I'm trying to find out what the all time record for all NFL teams is. If anyone has a link add to this thread.

On a side note looking forward, when is the most likely chance that the streak will be broken?
How many games will the streak last?

We have Donald Brown this week, but then it gets harder with CJ2K, Spiller, Lynch, Riddley and then Gore.

I think the Ravens may have the record but I can't remember what it is.

Looks like the 49ers had a 36 game streak from 2009 till late last year. Lynch snapped the streak with 107 yards in week 16.

If it was one of those and I had to guess... I would have to go with Spiller. Divisional game and all, I could just see him getting some kind of 70-80 yard TD run on us

I didn't realize that the streak was that long. That is a pretty impressive feat.

Baltimore had 38 game streak from 2006 to 2009. Cedric Benson broke the streak with 120 yards.

Baltimore had 38 straight games? That's impressive! Two full seasons and six games. That is a feat. Although we're doing well so far. Our front seven's been as dominant as any in the league so far.

I'm going to say 24 games and Lynch breaks it. He has 4 100 yard rushing games this year but the hawks have lost 3 of those 4 games.

I'll give up the streak for a win against the Seahawks.

Re: Dolphins break franchise record for keeping opposing running back under 100 yards

This stat is kinda misleading bc the Rams rushed for way more than 100 yards on us, it just happened to be split between 2 RBs. This stat is still amazing but we def gave up alot of rushing yards 2 weeks ago

True, but the streaks are kept for individual rushers and not team stats. I suppose you could track under 100 yards rushing by team. The streaks wouldn't be too long.
