I don't expect this thread to change much around here, but the vocal anti-Ireland crowd should not set themselves up for disappointment. There is practically no chance that Ireland will be fired this offseason - whether you like it or not.
Fact is, Ross now considers Ireland as part of a "new" regime along with Philbin. Once Ireland was retained last offseason, and a new coach was brought in, the clock was essentially "reset" on the staff, including Ireland. Ireland is now tied to the success of Philbin and Tannehill, and there is not much we can do about it. Barring a season like the Chiefs are having now, Ireland was never going to get fired after this year. The earlier success of this team that was not expected to do much with a rookie QB and rookie coach solidified his status.
This isn't a thread about Ireland's performance... People have the right to be upset with his performance, although I still maintain he has done an average job and gets perhaps too much flak from the fanbase. Consider this, the Dolphins at least hung around with a team like the Patriots, that's more can be said from the last 5 opponents to face them. There is talent on the team, just not where we all want it to be. We just got to hope that this talent gets developed by this coaching staff, unlike the previous coaching staff.
I wouldn't care if he is let go, but people need to be realistic... HE ISN'T GOING ANYWHERE ANYTIME SOON.
