    Dolphin Fan Tunnel Vision

When I see the reactions on the forums throughout the years, I am reminded most of us have tunnel vision. Fact is, we mostly just see Dolphins games from week to week. We don't see every game that other teams have played, so we assume they are more talented or have performed better overall, when reality, EVERY team has stinker games, and every fanbase likely feels and reacts the same way we do to our team. So when they blow another team out, the first knee jerk thought is figuring out playoff scenarios. When they get blown out, the first knee jerk thought is to blow everything up and start over.

The Dolphins played like garbage vs. Tennessee, but when you look at the other schedules of every team in the league, you will see a similar stinker game out of them. I see people saying how Buffalo will even wipe the floor with the Dolphins now. Don't you think Titan fans were thinking the same thing last week after watching that embarassment by the Bears?

Heck, even look to our opponent this week. Buffalo has been blown out MULTIPLE times this season, yet they still come back to have decent performances. In Week 1 they were whooped by the offense-impaired Jets to the tune of of 48-28 (where most of their points were in garbage time) only to come back in Week 2 to kill the Chiefs 35-17. They were also blown out by NE and SF, but came back to beat the Cardinals the following week.

I expect the Dolphins to come back and have a respectable game. Fact is, things are never as good as they seem after a big win, and never as bad as they seem after a big loss.

Other notable blowout losses this year:
    Giants blown out by Bengals
    Ravens blown out by Texans
    Steelers blown out by Broncos
Colts blown out by Jets and Bears
Jets bown out by Dolphins and Seahawks
    Bears blown out by Packers
    Vikings blown out by Buccaneers
    Saints blown out by Broncos
    49ers blown out by Giants

I'm not excusing the embarassing performance this team put out there on Sunday, but I think everyone needs a dose of reality. This stuff happens to most teams. The Dolphins aren't the first and won't be the last team to be blown out this season, and that certainly doesn't make them the worst team in the league.

What matters now is how they come back from this. Do they take a cue from the Titans, or do they continue to flounder? That's all that matters now.

The Colts game mattered. The winner of that game was going to continue to flourish and the loser was going to tank.
    We lost.
We needed to come back big vs a bad Titans team, and we failed.
    Now what?

"The big picture" is simple when you look at it really. This team really overachieved during the first part of the season and that fooled a lot of people. Truth is, we're still in year 1 of re-building mode.
Jets suck, Bills suck, Patriots suck.

I think the big picture can get even more frustrating for people when they're being told we're rebuilding yet Ireland was kept here because Ross believed he had accumulated talent and Sparano was just an incompetent coach. Still plenty of football left to be played so lets see where we are after week 17.

Year 1?.....lol......you mean we're on year 5. Come to think of, when was the last time this team won a game that mattered?.....we've been doing this since Marino left. You can't blame people for being frustrated.

I have said this before, you need to count Ireland as part of the new regime, because that is how Ross sees it. When Sprano got canned, and Ireland retained, it reset the clock. This is a whole new regime in Ross's view.
