Battery huh. This wasn't only a verbal altercation, disorderly conduct is a verbal altercation. Battery is a physical altercation with the intent to harm.
Hold My Beer and Watch This!
Also, when you set a no tolerance policy, the wrong guy (that is talented) can make the wrong decision. A guy that is indispensable to your team's success gets bagged for a stupid crime. Do you set a precedent in that he needs to be cut?
Hopefully, a culture is set that guys do not get in trouble. However, young kids can be stupid with time, money and fame.
The Cab driver sounds a little shady, should see if there were any complaints in the past, but you really shouldnt invade someone else's dance space reguardless.
Really can't say what the Jets would do if one of their talented players did this because, quite frankly they have no one worth keeping.
To be fair to Joe, he could make an argument on both Johnson and Gaffney that they were cut based on performance. Joe could say in each guy's case it was NOT character stuff, but not doing enough on the field.
At this guy netted Reggie Bush in a trade, farewell Jonathan
You know, this Amaya kid is a real enigma... He was good enough to hang on the roster for a couple years, even spark some interest as a long term project at CB. So we trade him to NO in the Reggie Bush trade. Well what do you know, this off season, he is available once again. Nice to have gotten the kid back but has he done **** since being on the team this year? Saints in a somewhat similar fashion as we did the Redskins with JT.
