OPINION Too much protection hurting production?

To my naked eye watching games it seems that Dolphin TE's and RB's block more than they run routes in comparison to opponents. I'd prefer to see Reggie Bush running check down patterns than have Daniel Thomas' head on a swivel trying to block a line backer. Same goes for Fasano who has been missing in action for a few weeks.

This in my opinion is running the offense to be reactive to defense instead of being proactive to say try and stop us.

Putting them out on routes does no good if the qb is on his ass!
The above post is not subject to penalty under the TOS I declare the Hayden Fox defense. " It is impossible for the staff to know my context therefore I cannot be penalized"

Thats what happens when you've drafted atleast one offensive lineman in the last five years and still can't get it right. Very bordersome!

He's #18 for QB's being sacked. Only 4 more times than Tom Brady (#25)

Not really fair to really compare a seasoned vet to a rookie...let alone one of the best Vet QBs to an inexperienced rookie. Besides Brady has playmakers that he can throw short to in a pinch, and they could get chunks of yardage on their own, instead of dropping it or not looking back.

The difference being Brady's backs and tight ends are out in patterns and Miami's are pass blocking to make up for the horrible line play.

How often does the Dolphins keep in an extra HB/TE compared to New England though.. Brady also has thrown 97 more passes..

All of this criticism of our O-Line is unfair, i/m/o. MIAMI drafted a big OL, for the road-grading of "PARCELLSBALL". And it was actually pretty SUCCESSFUL. But PARCELLSBALL is obsolete, in 21st Century NFL football. It's OK to run well, but you must be able to pass very well. That's just how it is.

Fortunately, MIAMI's PARCELLSESQUE OL has a couple of very, VERY good OLmen, who can actually make the transition to a more athletic, zone blocking scheme. For, example, JERRY, our RG. He actually has looked very good on sweeps left and getting to the 2nd level, as well as being better than just decent in pass protection. Say what you want about SPARANO, he said that JERRY "had Tackle's feet", and he was RIGHT. POUNCEY is another who won't have a problem w/the transition, i/m/o. I'm anxious to see how our young RT does at LT, his natural position, now that LONG's on IR. If he can handle LT and the new scheme, then MIAMI's already 3/5ths of the way there. GARNER didn't look bad to me at all at RT...and don't forget that he originally made the team as a RT behind V CAREY. Who knows? Maybe he's a "keeper" at RT. I hope they play him at RT the rest of the way...so we'll know before 2013 rolls around.
