DE is priority 1 - our pass rush really exposes our secondary. Close the gap on that and the scheme, coaching gets better out there. Its hard to depend on a rookie CB or WR to heavliy contribute year 1 - it just does not happen that often. Resign Smith with Marshall and a rookie CB as the 3rd and hopefully that gets better.

Ideally you would want a WR in FA but does there play fall off after a pay day - plus, are we going to sign any FA's - its not the Philbin way.
Seriously, did you have to quote that long as post?

I've got eifert in a trade down. Would touch him at 13.
I also have r. Marshall slated to go back to S as well. My bad on having Rashad at the wrong safety spot. He's my favorite phin now.

Werner would be amazing! But do you trade up for him
In a deep DE draft with so many holes to fill?

Clay is more of an Hback. I guess giving Egnew another year before panicking. But don't think I can stomach another year of piss poor TE play.

Personally I'm not trading up for anybody but come draft time if there is a guy you have rated like top 7 and you are sitting 13th and he slips to like 10, it's time to start thinking about nabbing him. It really depends, alot changes from now to draft time . . . like 5 months from now. I agree this is a DE deep draft, but the big time players will be first rounders. Werner and Wake would be scary good for this team and could give Brady fits the rest of his career.

I do like Eiffert, but he's a guy I'd think about in round 2 if he started to slip some.

Forget about TE man, we just drafted Egnew, we have had numerous opportunities to draft a TE and Ireland has passed or whiffed, I'll slap him if he goes that direction this year. Plus I'm almost certain we'll be drafting top 15 again, Eifert in the top 15 . . . mehhhhhh. Resign Fasano and run with him, Clay and Egnew next year. You have to atleast give that a year before stressing about TE.

I'm thinking Werner in round 1, but we may have to be top 10 to make that happen and that still could happen. Names I like in round 2 and 3: Trufant, T. Williams, R. Lester, A. Brown, Q. Patton, S. Bailey, J. Poyer. I'm cool with resigning Sean Smith and Hartline, but I think we need to consider moving Marshall to FS and drafting 2 CB's or keeping him there and looking at Lester from Bama at FS and Trufant or Poyer in round 2. I think we do get one of the big named receivers in Free Agency, but we need to draft atleast one more relatively high. Seriously after Free Agency and day 2 of the draft, I fully expect pass rusher, secondary and WR to be fully addressed leaving us to focus on the oline and depth on day 3. There is some good kickers in this draft also . . . just sayin
Agree with you. If we can add a very good kicker lets do it

I agree with the poster that said the Fins are only four guys away from contending. Unfortunately, those guys are:

    1. GM
    2. Asst GM
    3. Dir College Scouting
    4. Dir Pro Scouting

Letting Bush go means we need a RB, no way should we pull a JETS and think we have a good backfield with Thomas and Miller. Just like this year when the braintrust thought we had enough good receivers already here. Defenses not respecting our Running game will do no favors to Tanny's progression as a QB.
