Foresight would imply he had a plan to replace him, Nolan Carrol and 3 castoffs along with burnt toast Marshall is a not a good plan

Well our GM is not very bright either so that explains why he drafted him in first place

so the guy just simply cant' get any credit where dlockz is concerned? trades off a headcase WR for two future picks, trades off a fat out of shape clown for two future picks, and even that isn't worthy of getting the slightest bit of credit?

so you'd rather marshall and vontae were still on the team? Is that how I should interpret that??? you'd rather jeff ireland just left a headcase and a fat out of shape clown on the team?

Well I guess u dont invest. ireland traded 2 seconds for marhsall an made him highest paid receiver then trades him for two thirds and lots of dead money in salary cap space. He was a huge headcase before we traded for him or was he uninformed and was probably on much better behavior here in Miami(wasnt arrested once). He also drafted Vontae late first round and trades him for a late first round pick. So how is that something u praise him for.

It's not the same as investing, not even close. They paid a price and received value in on the field production and off field sales, then they sold those guys off and still received strong value. Rarely if ever do teams trade players for greater value then when they were first invested in. This is not money that we only look to invest and eventually receive returns and sell at a great value.

Ireland made the tough choice to receive value while it was still there, funny how other GM's get credit for it but Ireland never can from some.

Its not like we had Marsall and his skills were declining, we still had a major cap hit from Marshall and a huge hole at wr. Marshall is having a pro bowl season and we traded him for much less than value and didnt even try to replace his production. He wasnt even really shopped we just panicked and jumped on the Chicago offer. As for the Vontae Davis trade I have no problem to a degree with the value we got, my problem was it took away all depth at corner and none of the guys we kept were better than him. He actually did work that trade and got maximum value he thought he could get. The problem is most likely u wont get a player of Davis's talent late first round. I would probably give Ireland some credit if he had made any decent effort to replace the production of Marshall instead of giving us the worst third wr production in the league.

Can't believe people are still arguing about value in relation to the Marshall trade. They got what they could get for him when they traded him. He was really traded for one reason. They planned on drafting Tannehill, and didn't want Marshall hindering his development. Would have been nice to AT LEAST have drafted TY Hilton to help replace Marshall. That's the real shortcoming from the front office. As for value, he cost us two 2nds, and we got 2 3rds for him. We had him for two seasons. Those two seasons of near pro-bowl play cost us the difference between 2 3rds and 2 2nds. That's really not bad value.

    ,
Im sure the lack of talent at wr will hinder Tannehill more than Marshall ever would. Seems like Marshall was fine for Moore's development last year

Not to mention we traded Marshall March 14th so its not like they could not have tried to get other offers. We should have at least got a second for him.
