I find it interesting though how people applying certain laws just fitting their purpose or agenda.
No, I was not applying anything to anything...I think it's just a stupid move on the newspapers part. No good reason for it, and it's not news.

Hopefully someone out there with more free time than myself is running background checks on the editor and staff so that they can dig up some embarrassing information on them.

How does a burglar NOT use this information to pick easier targets?

... and published it. I think it's that last part that people object too.

I really begin to doubt reading comprehension in this forum.

How much clearer do I have to be then this:

But I do think that gun owners with their registration become part of the Freedom of Information Act. The problem between the FOIA and the privacy law is that they do contradict each other quite often. So people lay them out fitting their purposes.

Since no one suggested or implied that you do support the publishing of the names I too am beginning to doubt reading comprehension on this forum.

Poor reading comprehension compounded by hyper-defensiveness could make for a difficult life. My thoughts go out to anyone suffering from this double-whammy.

This would not be a story if the newspaper stopped at "doing the footwork and put it all together."

This is clearly an example of a newspaper with an agenda. They are trying to score points in an imaginary "guns versus us" contest by trying to lead their readership into believing that their neighbors could plot the next Sandy Hook massacre.

    It's dangerous; it's uncalled for; it's stupid.

Yes it is public information. Again, journalists, as the gatekeepers of information, have to decide what is the public benefit by a release of information. In this instance, they want their readers to think the way they do. Which is not a benefit to the public, but for the newspaper's ego.

Well well well....looks like the chickens......have come home......to roost.

Maybe they should just declare the office building a gun free zone, or get another law passed.....stupid bastards. I wonder if they will publish the names and addresses of the guards they hire to protect them
