Dolphins ranked #2 in Red Zone defense

Another stellar redzone perfromance yesterday. They held the Jets to 1 of 4 for the game.
They are now 9 for 25 for the season (36%) This is second only to Lions who have a 33% redzone percentage.

Over the last 3 victories we have held opponents to 3 for 9 (33%)

And if you look at those 3 TD's given up, its almost like there is a dolphin force field around our endzone.

The Cincy TD was a lob pass to A. J. Green who barely stayed in the endzone
The Bradford TD barely crossed the plane.
The jets TD was garbage time TD.

Team are having a real hard time getting into our endzone.

Another thing to note over the 3 game winning streak is the play of the QB.
Since that game losing interception in OT to Arizona our QB's have been error free.

    51 for 79 for 557 yards with 3 TD's and 0 Ints, QBR 97.9

Not gaudy numbers but if we don't make mistakes we are very hard to beat.

You also have to love that our defense is #1 in 3rd down percentage (26%).

We are also #8 in red zone offense, scoring TD's on 11 of 19 redzone trips (56%)

I hate to be debbie downer but those are some misleading stats. Just wait til we play a real offense with a real QB. If we can put up those types of numbers vs top offenses, it will be a different story. Don't get me wrong, I am as happy as can be that this coaching staff is getting the most out of this group of players. But you can find stats that will prove about anything. To me we haven't proven anything until we do it vs the Pats. The jets still out gained us by a pretty wide margin yesterday. The Rams have a defense similiar to ours (great front 7 etc) and the pats hung 45 on them.

We haven't arrived yet, but we are headed in the right direction. I will just sit back and enjoy the ride, without putting unrealistic expectations on a young and hungry team.

Yes, we are getting outgained as evident by the number of redzone trips. Opponents have 25 and we only have 19. Its a good thing we are in the top 10 in both or we would be in big trouble.

This also shows up in the yardage ranking compared to scoring ranking

We are ranked 23rd in offensive yards but 19th in scoring due to red zone procificency.
We rank 22nd in defensive yards but 5th in scoring defense due to all those great stops.

Pats almost lost to the sucky Jests, and they lost to Arizona at home and Seattle.

If those teams can beat them (or almost beat them) armed with QB's like Kevin Kolb, Taco Snatchez, and the rookie Russell Wilson,,, then Miami can surely split with the Pats

I agree with the first part of your post. A GOOD QB makes a difference.

The part about the Jets outgaining us... many of those yards were when we went into prevent mode. Even Fouts & the CBS analysts noted that.

The sign of a great Defense is not allowing your opponent to score. And the scary part is we are getting better!

Everyone keeps banging on Chris Clemons.

Dude had 9 tackles yesterday, led the team in tackles, and had a pick at a crucial time. He also saved a Shon Greene touchdown down which everyone's newfound favorite player Reshad Jones took one of the worst angles possible in.

I just dont get it. Jones is playing lights out, but Clemons is doing well too.

New England will not run us over. I gaurrantee it. By the time we play, you never know what could happen, but right now, this team is playing great and we have more depth than people think.
