At the end of the day, the republicans still own the house and state governments. They may get blamed for it, but rest assured, when it comes time to raise the debt limit, they will get their way.

Raising taxes in a bad economy is generally a bad idea, I agree. But if you're making more than $250,000 (or $450,000, as the Senate deal specified) then you're not personally in a bad economy. You're doing just fine.
