He is, there's a reason he was in running for the Heisman at one point. If anything he'll be a playmaker for us. Something we NEED!

forget height forget off the field troubles forget technique... the guy is a FOOTBALL PLAYER... and a damn good one at that... a playmaker... something we really lack and who knows he may fill a few empty seats in Sun Life.... that being said I wouldn't touch him in the second... but I would take him no question in the third or later

Elam was an animal last night. But, he looks more of a SS at the next level to me.

If were talking Kenny Vaccaro with our 2a, I can get on board with that.

But I say we trade our 1st and 3rd to move in position to get T'eo, then with our remaining 2nd we get a solid cornerback prospect (Amerson/ or Logan Ryan). Then with our other third we get someone like Joseph Fauria who will be a great weapon in the NFL. So if were up to me it'd look something like this
    1st (Traded up)- Manti T'eo
    2nd- Matt Elam
2nd- Amerson (Or Logan Ryan, preferably Amerson though)
    3rd- Joseph Fauria.
So are we letting Dansby walk? And you wanna spend a 2nd on a position where our 2nd best defensive player plays. Waiting until the 3rd to address our terrible offense and no WRs? Id be disappointed.

Will Davis, CB Utah State, if he falls to 2nd. UtSt asks a lot of him - they rarely give him help - and he locks it down.
Blidi Wreh-Wilson, CB UConn, if he falls to 2nd. 6'1, smooth for his size, really consistent, team captain, played great against Louisville.

And I'd be 100% down with taking Rambo in the second round.

I like Wreh-Wilson too. Moves well but can get physical, which we'd need in man coverage. But most mocks at this stage have him as a mid rounder?

I like Elam...but if you guys should definitely check out Phillip Thomas. That kid is a stud...and would be a perfect compliment to Reshad Jones. Im also a fan of Rambo

Disappointed? If Miami traded up for any LB given our current situation I would be replacing a broken TV.

Take a look at his performance against Oregon. http://draftbreakdown.com/phillip-thomas-vs-oregon-2012 It's a litany of misreads, missed tackles, bad angles, lack of pace. Sorry, but I just don't see it.

no to honey badger.... off the field problems would be a huge concern... kicked off team... arrested...etc...

MatT Elam is a stud.... but i think other upgrades are just a higher prority right now... need to go with a true CB
