You have to be excited for next year.

This team, with its lack of talent on offense:

    Beat Cincinnati
Beat a very good Seattle team
Played the Pats well (that one game)
Lost to the Colts by a FG

    All playoff teams.

They lost 4 games by 5 points or less, and that one game to the Pats by a TD. If we had some more talent, we could be looking at 11-5 or 12-4.

Played the 49ers incredibly close until Kapernick put it away.

With the offseason we have coming up, as long as we do Free Agency correctly, spend wisely, and draft correctly...We're definitely looking at a promising playoff run next year. Although we have that one wildcard (Ireland) who could **** it up. I believe in him though....because I have to and want to think he can get it right this year. Hopefully he doesn't call any FA or draftees mother a hooker.

AND this was all with a ROOKIE QB, ROOKIE HQ, and piss poor secondary (for the most part). We got money and we got picks. We always say we're 3-4 players away. Now we got the opportunity to go out and get those 4 players that we want. 2-3 in FA and then draft the rest.

Get back to me after free agency and the draft.
I'm here to tell the truth about top secret Air Force project BAR STOOL. Gamma ray radiation from the particle accelerator under Joe Robbie Stadium is real! Get out while you can! This bad football team is just a front for something far more sinister!

I can't say I'm excited for next season until this off-season. This year has shown where we are weak. It's up to..ugh, Ireland..to lead us through free agency and the draft to fix this year's problems. Right now, I'm 50-50 on next season. Half excited, half nervous.

So you're happy that we beat 2 playoff teams all year? You're easy.

Given how pathetic the results during the season have been for the last decade or so, I can hardly blame someone for getting excited during the team's off-time. Of course, then the games start and reality conspires to ensure that the Dolphins are once again just [2, 3, 4 . . .] players away and we'll get 'em next year.

With the talent we had?? Yeah. How we played the rest? Yeah. I hope no one else was expecting playoffs this year.

While I think we are on the right path, it is a little disheartening watching teams like Indy, Washington, Minnesota, etc. who were so bad compared to us last year, but were somehow able to turn things around in a season, but we didn't do all that much to improve. And while the easy answer is to say one drafted or comeback player did it all for them . . . . . I don't think so, it takes a team. I think Philbin is the right direction, I just don't have confidence Ireland can get him the right/talent to do much more than he's doing now. And to keep making excuses for him year after year is almost as sad as his eye for talent.

move on then, why torture yourself and remain a fan?

as far as I'm concerned we are going in the right direction, and Ireland has a lot to do with that.

    F/A/C/T
We have a better record then last year
We have what looks to be a Franchise QB
We have what looks to be a HC with his head on straight
I believe the second youngest team in the NFL
    50 million in cap space
5 picks in the first 84 picks (I think the Bears 3rd round pick is the 84th... if not close enough)

There are at least 7 teams in the NFL scrambling to figure who they should hire to lead their team, a couple teams need a new HC AND GM, are in cap hell, etc...

these are excitting times! and no what, regardless of the moves we make, who we sign or don't sign, draft or don't draft. I'm reserving my opinion till this time next year before I praise or complain.
