Fox News: Westboro is a Left-Wing Cult

At Fox Nation, the Fox News owned-and-operated website maintained by conservative jingoists too radical for the Free Republic, the Westboro Baptist Church is now a "left-wing cult."

Wow... That's an impressive level of ignorance. Their one platform issue is being anti-gay marriage.

Right? You could call Westboro a bunch of things, and I have, but left-wing would never be one of them. Meh, not a big deal really. Just made me laugh...

Now, to be fair, Westboro does consider other religions to be a cult, they hate Israel and they love to burn and stomp on the US flag. They do have a lot in common with the Dems.......

In fairness to Fox News, this assertion appears to have originated on Gateway Pundit the source material for Fox Nation's "article" where blogger Jim Hoft criticized criticized the Cochrane Times the source material for the biker story for daring to call the WBC a "right-wing Christian group."
So a blogger calls the Westboro Baptist Church a "left-wing" cult in response to the Cochrane Times calling them a "right-wing Christian group". Is that fighting ignorance with ignorance for the entertainment of the ignorant?

Funniest classification from Fox since they declared the Tea Party patriots but the Occupy Wall Street members as borderline terrorists who hate capitalism and the American way.

On a more serious note: Patriot Guard Riders, awesome. A few years back we had to bury a friend of mine after he drove over an IED while serving. We got wind of a "church" group gathering to protest the funeral. One of the guys who helped organize the funeral called up a local branch of the PGR(or a knock off, whatever) and they came out in full force. Bikes everywhere and enough to set up a human wall. The hate group never showed up, so they instead lined up at the entrance of where we were holding the ceremony and held up American flags.

A good number of these guys were ex-military who had been screwed over in more ways than i could count. Yet they still showed up for their fallen brothers. At the end of the funeral, they just got on their bikes and drove home, asked nothing of anyone. I have a great deal of respect for those guys and everyone else should as well.

The Westboro members are so spiritually bankrupt and morally disingenious it's almost frightening instead of sad. They claim to be baptists, but show no signs of being baptized with the Holy Spirit. I can't pity these people, i can only look at them and shake my head, wondering why the simplest things elude people.

They're no more Christian than Osama was.

Just because they interpret the holy scriptures literally? That makes them non Christians?

    That makes zero sense
