Not a big loss for the team as a whole, but could be a major loss for Tannehill. Would like him to have some continuity on offense for him.

Was Mort just speculating, or did he seem to have some information on it?

I truly believe he and Zac Taylor are very critical pieces in the development of Ryan Tannehill. If Sherman leaves, Taylor will likely follow him and suddenly Tannehill is probably learning a new offensive system. Not good.
He sucks as a coordinator too. His play calling was awful at times.

There is very little continuity in the NFL. You have to adapt to survive or you'll be left on your ass.

You seem to be the only one worried about Sherman leaving. Is it more along the lines of continuity and not wanting Thill to learn a new system or is it because you think he is to good an OC to let go. Personally, I hated his offense and play calling this season. After Henning I thought we couldn't get any worse at OC. But I feel Sherman challenge my thought on that all season long. I wouldn't mind him leaving at all. even if it means a new system.

Good question. I guess there was some speculation. However, it was enough "speculation" that they had montage of Sherman clips ready discussing his candidacy. Mentioned he thought he would get an interview. Hope that helps.

Mostly continuity, because Miami never seems to have that on the coaching staff. I also think Sherman and Taylor are a big part of Tannehill's development and would like to at least keep it together for one more year. Sherman had questionable moments this year, but I also think he was holding back and "protecting" his young quarterback. I think Sherman will probably open it up more in year two and allow Tannehill to take more control of the offense.

I think how Sherman handled Thill wasn't good at all. Luck, RG and Wilson were not "protected" and they thrived. I personally feel Sherman hampered Thills growth. If Sherman doesn't open it up more next year he is going to be looking for a new job not as a promotion, he'll be looking becuase he won't have this one anymore.
