Dansby might be my least favorite Dolphin ever and he'll never be as good as he thinks he is BUT even I have to admit he played well enough to return next season. Now if somebody gets stupid and over pays for Dansby I won't be too upset.
I would still like manti in round one and after that bowl game it's now possible. Trade dansby for a 3rd or something. I agree with OP on. Everything. Rebuild
I tend to agree with the original post and I think Stephen Ross is aware of what's coming, so the coaching staff and Ireland are safe. Although, I think it makes sense to keep Hartline and extend Dansby's contract a few years to reduce his cap hit. We need three offensive linemen as Pouncey and Martin are the only ZBS fits. I suspect this will be addressed in free agency and the draft. Ireland/Philbin were very smart last year to prepare for this year by not signing any long-term free agents last year. This offseason should be a lot of fun to sit back and watch as this team develops into a Philbin-team.
We just think ireland has this year.
Maybe ross is,down with this plan.
We need many additions.
Three year plan.
Year one was get tanne exp, and learn players.
Year two bring in your players.
Year three add more players n playoffs.
They'll never say it.
But i think thats whats happening.
Hartline is asking for too much money.
Plus yac is non existed.
Truth is we are scared of change.
But we need change.
Philbin should be given at least 3 years to clean out the garbage and fill in with players that fit his system. It will take AT LEAST 3 years to make all the changes needed.
I have been saying we should get rid of Dasnby for a while now, he is a good LB but doesnt warrant his salary. He can be replaced, but no one will take on his contract. He is a much better fit for a 3-4 than 4-3. I think Hartline is worth keeping for a good price, he is very reliable, and with more weapons around him his game will elevate. Long might be done for sure as he had a terrible year and he doesnt fit Philbins ZBS.
This is a do or die year. It sucks for Philbin, but it is. This franchise is so starved for a playoff team that if they fail again in 2013, Ireland will get the axe, and the next GM should not be burdened with a holdover coach. They can't afford to "rebuild" right now.
