Not at point blank range; no. But "assault style weapons" seldom use 9mm pistol cartridges, unless you're talking about a Mac or an Uzi. The "assault style weapons" usually fire 5.56mm or 7.62mm NATO rifle cartridges (or 7.62x39 or 7.62x54 Soviet). They are much more deadly at a much greater range than a 9mm semi-auto pistol.

How many different styles of weapons exist today as opposed to when the Constitution was drafted? Modern medicine has comes light years ahead of where it was back then. Gay marriage? That seems to be the rage nowadays and only in the last few years.

The same "logic" works for the freedom of speech and freedom of the press. Only those forms that existed in the 18th century should be free.

The fact of the matter is that regardless of the changes in circumstances, logic is eternal. Circumstances may alter the application of the logic but the logic doesn't change. Similarly, the nature of man doesn't change. Man has always been affected by fear, driven by greed and selfishness, prone to jealousy, and driven mad by lust. We haven't always had the access to avenues for which to express the aforementioned natures that we do now but they have always been prevalent. Thus, the reasoning and logic behind the US Constitution is every bit as applicable and pertinent today as it was more than 200 years ago.

Did anyone even read the details of these new backround checks if passes. What the politicians fail to mention is that included are rules that make it essentially a felony to transport a firearm.
Any misstep transporting your gun/ loaning your gun can lead to confiscation and ban on ever owning a gun. Read up on it. Very scary.

My newest purchase. Bumpus, yea or nay?

Sadly, some of my mags don't fit this so I'll either have to sell them off or do some filing, but I've got 500 rounds ready to go through this beauty.

but when the trumpets blew again and the knights charged, the name they cried was "Stannis! Stannis! STANNIS!"

    Awesome!

Not exactly my cup of tea, but enjoy it bro. I've got a buddy that has an AK, and they are a blast at the range.

    So, anyway ...

I got a chance to shoot an AR-15 this afternoon for the first time at the range.

Up until this point my support for the "evil" black rifles has been simply in name only.

    No longer.

These rifles are a flat out HOOT!

Low recoil, easy acquisition - literally a BLAST to shoot.

Two thumbs up! I can definately see Team Bumpus investing in one.
