Yet some only want to concentrate on the one who did not play to make a case that it was a "bad" draft. Egnew, the 4th pick of the Dolphins draft does not define the entire draft.

It was a good draft for the Dolphins, despite the early outlook on Egnew.
Fair or unfair, I believe the obsession with Egnoodle is because he represents one half of what we got for Brandon Marshall. So I think people look at it as "we gave up pro bowl production for a guy who never got on the field". If Eggnoodle was just an ordinary 3rd round pick, yes there would be some chatter about how come he isn't playing but I don't believe it would be nearly as loud as it is due to the circumstances in which we selected him. Just my 2 cents.

I couldn't agree with you more and I think your point is reflective of the larger problem with this franchise. It's tough to build a winner when your mindset is "I've got Reggie Bush but I think I'll go to Walmart and see if I can replace him with their house brand tailback". I don't think Ireland understands the importance of continuity, understands how to look at intangibles (like that Sean Smith possess none), etc. He's a Moneyball guy moreso than a GM who can truly evaluate real talent.

Pats get a B+ while Dolphins get a B- after getting starting QB, RB, RT and good DE & WR. Doesn't really measure

I know, but if you rank the players we got against their rookie class...

None of them are going to rank at #1, or #2 or #3. They are good players, and I like our draft class but none of them are top of the draft type guys

Let's pray for an A in the 2013 draft. If so, happy days are truly here again.

Blah blah blah. This was one of the better drafts weíve had since Jimmy was here.

Keep in mind, the more drastic the upgrade or downgrade to a teamís draft that Mel makes, the more he reveals his inability to recognize young talent.

He's exactly right, though. He is talking physical ability, and Jamarcus was easily top 5. Seriously, you're reaching. His entire demise was mental.
