    Roman's 3-Months-to-the-Draft Four Round Mock

Three months from tonight we will be making arguable the most important picks in the past decade or two. Five picks in the first THREE rounds. Lets hope Ireland is focused and gets it right.

I just don't think we can afford to re-sign Jake Long. I think if Eric Fisher is on the board, and not taken by the Chargers at #11, then we grab him. Fisher is 6'7", 305, and has way better feet and movement than Long ever had. I know many of you are saying you will kill Ireland if he takes an OL in the first round, but we probably will have to as I don't see us sticking with Long, and Martin needs to go back to RT.

I think we will sign a #1 WR through Free Agency.....my guess is Greg Jennings. We can then focus on someone besides a WR in round one. I really like Desmond Trufant, the Washington Huskies CB. He held his own against Pac-10 WR's in games I watched and has two brothers in the NFL...Desmond is going to be better than both of them.

West Virginia's Stedman Bailey is as good a WR as Tavon Austin....he may not be as fast as Austin but I think Bailey has better hands and can bring the ball in against taller defenders. Bailey is great at adjusting to the flight of the ball and timing his jumps. Bailey just needs to add some bulk, but should be able to compete for a #2 or #3 WR spot.

Carradine, Dobson and Sims all fulfill our biggest needs and are guys who can play right away.

    Dolphins 2013 Draft -

    1. Eric Fisher, OT, Central Michigan
    2A. Desmond Trufant, CB, Washington
    2B. Stedman Bailey, WR, WVU
3A. Tank Carradine, DE, Florida State
    3B. Aaron Dobson, WR, Marshall
    4. Dion Sims, TE. Michigan State

FA - Sign Greg Jennings or Mike Wallace, Don't re-sign J. Long

I can definitely get onboard with those picks. If we plan to re-sign Long, and Warmack slides to 12, I'd take him.

I'm thinking Fisher will be a top 10 pick. I'd prefer to find a RT via free agency and draft Patterson at 12.

I'm fine with that draft, though I'm not sure Carradine will be there in the 3rd. Our resident draftniks here seem to think he's going much earlier. I agree with you on your opinion on taking an o-lineman in the 1st. IF we don't re-sign Long it's a strong possibility, and to me it's crazier to pay Long $9-$11 million than it is to draft another tackle in the first. That said it looks like a deep draft at OT, and we might be better off going CB or DE in the first and picking a guy like Justin Pugh in the 2nd.

You may have to swap Bailey to your first 2nd rounder and hope he slips that far. Highly unlikely Dobson slips until late round 3. Carradine is a top of the first round talent that's coming off of an ACL tear. Even if his rookie year is a wash he's a steal in round 3

Dear Santa please let Ireland make the best possible pick in the first round even if it is an offense of lineman

I just can't cosign Offensive Line with that first pick at the 12 spot. I mean when does it end.

If Jeff Ireland is real savvy, he finds a way to trade back and get Cooper and Eiffert along with Bailey and Trufant . . . and then picks up a ZBS tackle in round 4.
