Brother when Brown went down for the Chargers the WR corps just stunk except Danario Alexander. Rivers really missed Jackson and took even more pressure from opposing teams and the fans here locally. If Jackson keeps his head on straight he will do good things for the team.

I agree, I was just trying to make a point. I want Wallace, just stating that, just because you go out and pay through the nose for a player, does not guarantee a playoff appearance.

Ireland will pay whatever these guys want. He knows this is make or break for him. Any signing that gets him a playoff appearance, is one he will make.

"So I throw it up there?" "No! See that guy Wallace deep in the endzone? Him!"

    1. Vincent Jackson, Buccaneers 11,000,000
    2. Dwayne Bowe, Chiefs 9,515,000
    3. Wes Welker, Patriots 9,515,000
    4. Brandon Marshall, Bears 9,300,000
    5. Santonio Holmes, Jets 7,750,000
    6. Sidney Rice, Seahawks $,7,000,000
    7. Anquan Boldin, Ravens $6,000,000
    8. Roddy White, Falcons 5,500,000
    9. Darius Heyward-Bey $5,279,000
    10. Larry Fitzgerald, Cardinals $5,000,000

What Wallace is asking for isn't completely unreasonable and while no one would call him a bargain, he'd be nice to have at 10m but if it gets up to 14 or higher we should sign a cheaper option and draft a WR. And Brian Hartline is delusional if he thinks anyone is going to pay him anything more than 4 mil per year.

My thinking is Wallace wants to be the highest paid receiver and will command 11.5 - 12 mill. How much higher will depend on who is willing to engage in a bidding war and where will it stop? I believe there will be enough suitors to ensure he becomes the highest paid WR. How high the Dolphins would be willing to go is anyone's guess.
Now, if the bidding starts "low," say around 9M and there are not many suiters perhaps he he can be signed for 11.5 -12M.
    Just my best guess.
Insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results. I should know. I've been there.

Vincent Jackson did did great and fulfilled expectations on Tampa this year. Led the NFL in YAC and overall had a great season. Good signing. Just because they didn't make the playoffs does not change that.

I agree that Wallace getting paid 14 mil a year is a little high, but if we can take him for 11-12 I'd be O.K with that. I'd be more upset if Hartline got 6....

Considering he had 72 catches for 1,384 yds and 8 TDs, I'd say they were right in signing him.

Yeah if we could get Vincent Jackson production from our #1 WR for 11 mil a season, I'm signing up.

Honestly, Im just stunned you guys aren't jumping all over this. Hes a tremendous WR, he's one of the most dangerous deep threats in the NFL and he's in his prime. He'd instantly make our offense better.
