Mia free agents (free and restricted) = 17 BAL (free and restricted) = 17 and SF (free and restricted) = 14. You want any more research than that, do it yourself. I just showed you that we have the exact same amount of free agents as one of the superbowl teams, and for the math impaired, only 3 more than the other superbowl team.
7 of San Fran's 12 free agents were signed to one year deals.

If we wouldn't have already cut all of our one year deals we'd have more like 24 free agents

The Ravens actually have 17 players that were signed to one year deals.

24 one year free agents combined contributing on the superbowl teams, thats some good gm'ing right there

Lamar replaces Bush, and will be better. Thomas blows imo, 3rd string or cut him.
Finding a backup RB is not going to cost us a high draft pick or crazy money.

Hartline is not worth what he is asking for. We get a Patterson or Hunter or another top flight rookie WR, and Hartline won't be missed.
Smith, yeah unfortunately we got no CB's, but that doesn't mean just throw money at this clown.
We have all of free agency and the draft. And on the optimistic side, is replacing Sean Smith's production really going to be that hard? What exactly has he done?

We slide Martin over to LT, I think he will blossom once he gets stronger. Maybe try Jerry at RT, seemed to be alright there.
I like Samuda a lot, I expect him to challenge for a G spot next year. Replacing Incognito shouldn't be a big deal either.

Brighten up man things are looking up!

    This report is classic Ireland.

Doesn't it concern those who don't want Bush re-signed that he accounted for 8 of the teams 28 touchdowns on offense this past year (28%). For a team that needs playmakers, he is definitely a playmaker. While you shouldn't overpay, around $5 million a year is not that much for that kind of production for someone not even 28 years old.

Miller may be the future but don't we need both as options? Having problems understanding why the Dolphins are going to let him walk for what likely will be a reasonable price.

This is an incorrect statement. And even if it was, half unsigned of a dismal team does not concern me. I see opportunity. What does concern me is the fact that we may have a franchise QB and a boatload of FA cash and enough picks to make any war room staff look like they had viagra for breakfast.

"We aren't winning next year" sugests to me that you would be better off rooting for the Jets.

I think Taylor from Stanford looked best at the Senior Bowl, if he falls to the late second round that wouldn't be a bad addition; him and Miller would be a good 1-2 punch; with Thomas as depth; since we know by now that its hard to trust DT to carry any sort of load for 16 games

Not really, considering you have to continuously refill the RB slot due to the accellerated aging process of backs in this league; and the Martin signing looks very smart now; seeing as Jake not only has been getting injured a ton, but also doesn't seem to be a good fit for the zone blocking scheme...

they seem like steps forward to a longer future of being a super bowl contending team

Too many of you are blowing the whistle a little early on Ireland this year. Two things to consider. One that we are rebuilding the team based on Philbins needs and wants regarless of what the media and Ross says so roster is about changing out with the old and in with the new. Second is that Ireland picks in twos every year he has been here either in the draft or a combination of the draft and FA. Soo many of these guys that we have not resigned were Tony Sporano boys who as Ireland has hinted he believe in but Philbin might not for whatever reason. Everyone is down on the DT pick but that was the same year the Ireland traded a pick for Bush who has wored out just fine. Last year Ireland brough in Gerard and drafted Ryann T, we brought in Hicks and drafted Martin and we brough in a DE name Wheeler or something like that and drafted Oliver. Anyway we all know that the 2 largerst holes last year were actually filled prior to Philbin with Marshall and Vonte Davis and we probably would have won a couple of more games with those guys on the team but they were let go for a reason and was not because Irleand did not belive that they could not play the game. I am not so sure about 1 years deals either unless you have a aging roster then they make sense. We are going to see a real true sense about Philbin and personnell this 2nd year of his tenure just like we saw under Tony. We have a lot fewer holes this year than last when you consider how many new bodies contributed by the end of the year.
