Does it suck when one of your good players signs with hated rival of course but nothing we can do about it.

Whenever we're in the position to lose someone it's always in fear to the Patriots. We better resign Reggie Bush, Jason Taylor, blah, blah, blah because THE PATRIOTS!!!! might get them...WHATEVER!

IF anything its far more likely the Patriots really target that missing piece on offense name Mike Wallace!!!

Yeah, Hartline is the missing piece for the Patriots. 😀

The Patriots need big physical WR's who aren't prone to tripping over blades of grass.

Said this all along. If we release him the Pats will be 1'st in line. They made Welker a star and Hartline is perfect for their "Ball Control" offense.

Hartline would not become "legendary" in NE.

Now I'd be worried if they sign Mike Wallace.

There are plenty of reasons to resign him for a reasonable contract, but keeping players from signing with the pats is by far one of the worst ones. If the pats want to overpay, more power to 'em. I like him and wouldn't mind resigning him, but he's certainly not worth a bidding war.

Seems this article is thinking the same way. Replace Welker with Ammedola or hartline

Let's just get to the list of free agents, starting with the most notable names first (current age listed):

    Dwayne Bowe, 28
    Mike Wallace, 26
    Greg Jennings, 29
    Wes Welker, 31
    Danny Amendola, 27
    Brian Hartline, 26
Notes: Before anyone gets cut or traded, these would have to be the six most popular names in free agency and there's a reason to believe that all six will be on new teams in 2013. One theory that I have had for a very long time is that the Patriots are going to cut ties with Welker and simply plug in Amendola (or Hartline if they must) and that guy will be the next Welker. Amendola with Tom Brady in that offense would be just as ridiculous as Welker, I believe.

Say it with me. Hartline is a F-R-E-E A-G-E-N-T. That means his contract will officially expire and he is free to sign with whomever he wants. There is no "releasing" him.
