I just wish I had a list of names on this site to put people on blast that hammered clemons time and time again. I agree that Es not that playmaking type of safety all the time, but he does his job well. I believe that's this was his second year starting majority and or all of the season. The season before last when he was damn near out the whole year, I see him breaking out this season coming, in his 3rd full season and another year to work with coyle. Im a strong believer in players being coached up, jones was taking the worst angles I ever seen, but look at him now!!! I used to say man this dude looks stiff or man this dude is lost!! Clemons will be resigned and will blossom will jones as one of the best safety tandems in the league.

It may be true that Clemons is not a playmaker, but he is easily the fastest guy on the defense, is always around the play, and really doesn't make many mental mistakes....would I love to see him get more INTs, absolutely, but he is a good player, put next to an up and coming star in Jones, and those two could become a nightmare for offenses once Miami gets better at the corner position, or Miami adds another effective passrusher to help Wake.

There is a lot to be excited about with Miami for next year, if they can at least get better at receiver, and corner. Get someone to help Wake, and another good O-linemen, Miami could be a dangerous team next year.

To be fair, this is only one aspect of PFF's grades and ratings. Overall, the rate CC at #24, coverage at #23, and vs the run at #10, which is still VG and more realistic. Many do not realize that the "eye test" is what PFF does for a living, NOT stats.

Earlier this past season, I posted PFF rankings on Smith, which many were up in arms about with PFF being a joke. Now, after a full season, where his floor dropped out in his grades and ranking, they know what they are talking about. Comical.

A lot of Coyle's Scheme had Clemmons back deep.

I like Clemmons he is solid, but we need a playmaker at FS.

We need INTs and Clemmons just does not have the instincts to read the QB and the WRs & TEs to make the big plays.

Jairus Byrd is a playmaker and if Buffalo lets him go, he's the guy I would like as our next FS.

Clemons had two picks, which is in the upper half of all NFL safeties, while not being thrown at much (28 times for the year). Only a few had more than 4. Should he give himself more chances to make plays by not covering as well as he has done?

Our problem was at CB, with trading VD and the Marshall injury, everyone was not doing what they were planned to do. This does make a difference.

    .

Byrd had 8 picks, which I believe to be a fluke.

Byrd has 18 career INTs and 10 FFs in 4 seasons. He has a proven track record.

I'm going to have to call brain worms on this. Clemmons was absolutely a liability, constantly taking bad angles and the like. If it wasn't for his speed, it would be readily apparent.

    Don't come here with FACTS!!!

Don't you know the Ireland haters have all the facts...and basically since Chris Clemons was a late round find, who has played consistently well, even though he hasn't made a ton of game changing plays....HE's A SCRUB! And needs to be released to the CFL with Ireland!

    FACTS!!! psshhhh
