Apparently this comes from the show Newsroom, which I've never seen. Probably the most accurate monologue I've heard in any medium in years...

Its a decent show. I enjoy it, though it gets a bit to left-leaning sermony for my taste from time to time. Sometimes Sorkin hits the nail on the head and other times he sets up debates just to knock them down while preaching.

I love this show. And that speech in the original post hits it dead on. When I first watched that speech on HBO I was riveted.
