It took a rookie HC & QB (John H & Flacco) 5 yrs so that is a decent time frame for Philbin & Tannehill IMO.

Uh yes way, as a matter of fact Carr has/had a bunch of similarities as Tannehill and Flacco. Strong arm, mobile, accurate. Problem is he played behind the worst offensive line in the NFL, a terrible head coach, and only had Andre and a bunch of scrubs surrounding him.

If Tanny ends up getting the targets we hope he gets, with the addition of a little experience under his belt, it is possible. I really like the guy and thought that he was the right pick in the right spot for us. This upcoming season is very important, as is this offseason. I've said it a lot, and I mean it every time.

Flacco and Eli lap Tannehill's personalities with miles to spare.

Tannehill is closer to Matt Ryan.

Flacco has a pocket awareness that Tannehill doesn't have yet, he also throws with tremendous touch and accuracy downfield which Tannehill struggles at times with.

I definitely think there's a resemblance. I remember Flacco in his rookie year - kind of oafish, alternating between brilliant moments and rookie ineptitude. He's had a strange career path for sure, but was placed in an environment that allowed him to grow. I don't think it was so much about adding receivers as it was having strong ownership, a strong head coach, and a consistent, coordinated plan - that's one of the perks of playing for one of the best run organizations in football. If Stephen Ross doesn't get in the way of things, I think we can provide a similar environment for Tannehill - if we play all of our cards right.
