    Fascinating Question.

I have thought about it for a while. The immense boredom and loneliness would drive someone crazy. In that case I would never get the unlimited amount of drugs, because at some point you cross over to the stuff like heroin or coke. And with that it is over you probably don't even survive the 10 years.

    I definitely would take the:
Kitchen(6) you are enclosed for a year. You have to eat right
Gym(5) need stress relief and good health

    then either
    Chick(18)
    Books(4)
Garden(2) especially if I can grow weed. Since I need to have some mind altering substance to pass the time. or grapes to make wine
    5 million

    or

Internet(16)- gives you communication, current events, entertainment
Garden(2) once again cheap source of mind altering substance
Pool table(1) once again last point
    10 million

Great idea about making wine and growing weed. I still might go with the unlimited drugs/booze though just for convenience (and quality in the case of the alcohol). Id like to think I wouldnt try hard drugs just because Im bored. Never really wanted to try any before, but then again I havent been locked in a basement before either.

I think hygiene products and medical care are both necessities. No toothbrush means you'll have cavities and eventually mind numbing pain in your teeth. And without medical care, a single infection from a cut means you're done.

That said, I'd go one of two ways.

    Option A:
    Kitchen (6 points)
    Hygiene products (3 points)
    Mayo Clinic care (3 points)
    Television (7 points)
    Gym (5 points)
    Library (4 points)
    Skylight (2 points)

    30 points, $10 million.

    Or Option B:
    Microwave Food (2 points)
    Hygiene Products (3 points)
    Mayo Clinic care (3 points)
    Girl (18 points)
    Television (7 points)
    Skylight (2 points)

    35 points, $5 million.

Option A would be better to keep me occupied. Between making my own food, the gym, tv, and the library I don't think I would ever be bored. I thought about choosing video games over the library but since the internet is a separate option, I'm assuming you can only play single player and I could only do that for so long before I was bored. This option is also healthier with the fresh food and the gym.

Option B is all about saving enough points for the girl obviously. With that choice, I don't think it's possible to stay under 30 points while not going insane unless you could spend the vast majority of every day reading.
Not every human is a manipulative, opportunistic, letch... or at least that's what I'm told.

Interesting I would argue that the medical care, especially the Mayo Care, is extremely overrated(though they don't really define what that entails). With the one caveat that it depends on your age.

If you are starting before the age of 35 you probably don't need it.
If you are starting after the age of 45 you probably do.
Also if you plan on using heavy drugs then I would advise the medical care.

You can recover from most infections with simple rest and fluids. Plus you are in a basement cut off from the outside world. Those flu's aren't going to affect you.
If your appendix ruptures well then your are probably screwed either way.

Thats my thinking as well. If I get cancer, super AIDS or something serious, Im stuck in a basement so its probably goodnight sweet tylerdolphin anyway. I assume basic antibiotic cream is in the hygiene product thing as well. Only reason to need the doctor at my age is in case you knock up the chick and need to abort

While you can recover form infections on your own, you may not always. A lot of people died from infections (sometimes basic ones) before antibiotics came around.

And I don't think antibiotic cream falls under the category of hygiene product, but I don't know.

A necessary evil, I had my kitchen at first because I can cook with the best of them but then I realized in order to have other forms of stimulant, working out, sunlight, books, TV etc...you could manage to eat semi-healthy on ordering fast food. Unlimited fast food can mean grilled chicken and fish along with almost any permutation you would need and the extra points nabbed me a library which is more important than the kitchen.

But I agree, fast food is good on a hangover and that's it, other than that I rarely eat it.

Or you could prevent the hangover completely by drinking pedialyte before you go to sleep.

Oh son you don't understand what it's like drinking with me lol. Pedialyte won't touch the dehydration caused by a 12+ hour bender lol. My buddy who is a medic in Florida brought home IV's one night we went out to drink, the next morning I can honestly say that was the only quick fix I have ever had to an extreme hangover, pop in the ol' IV for about 15 minutes and you feel like a million bucks.
