I think so.
The players Miami could use the tag on are Jake Long ($15 mil), Reggie Bush ($8.1 mil), Brian Hartline ($10.4 mil), Anthony Fasano ($6.0 mil), Randy Starks ($8.3 mil) and Chris Clemons ($6.8 mil).
Of those, the player that is worth closest to the franchise cost is without a doubt Randy Starks. The franchise tag is about $3 million overvalued for Reggie Bush and Anthony Fasano, about $4 million overvalued for Chris Clemons, $5 million overvalued for Jake Long, and $6 million overvalued for Brian Hartline.
Yet, it's only about $1 to $2 million overvalued for Randy Starks.
I think Starks is a priority. Not sure it matters but Starks and Soliai are both 29. I was thinking let starks walk because we can kick Odrick inside and Soliai is younger but he isn't. I could see Soliai not getting resigned next year. Also I thought the tag for Long would be $9.6?
Starks would be my only choice as well.i would rather sign him to a longer deal and less $$ but i doubt that will happen
The D line is a strength of this draft. Franchise him for one year and then draft his replacement in the 3rd round

DT will be a factor in the draft if Starks is tagged because BOTH Soliai and Starks would be free at the end of next year.
Starks is worth it.
He's the only realistic candidate in my opinion. I could really see him being tagged and sign a 3-4 year deal afterward that would be more cap-friendly. Something like a 4 years/24 M$ with 14 M$ guaranteed.
