Best Case Scenario For The 2013 Miami Dolphins?

We're coming off of a very competitive 7-9 under a rookie Head Coach and a rookie QB. We have a ton of resources to fill some of the holes we have. With that being said alot of people think that Miami is a team to watch heading into the upcoming season. If you were Jeff Ireland show me what your offseason would look like. Based off that let me know how you think this next season is going to play out.

We haven't done anything yet so I'm not going to assume we'll be much improved just because we have draft picks that can easily be wasted and money that can easily be mis-spent. What I want to see is a clear plan for the offseason to improve the team because I honestly think they didn't think things through last year.

There's money to spend. I think it could go something like this.

    Signed
    Wallace $11 million per year
    Long $9 million per year
    Hartline $6 million per year
    Cook $5 million per year
    Starks $8 million per year
    Clemons $4 million per year
    Cox $7 million per year

That's $50 million depending on how the contracts are written so it's in the neighborhood of what the team has.

    Cut
    Incognito (saves roughly $5 million)
    Marshall (saves roughly $5 million)

    Draft
    1. Johnthan Banks CB - Banks and Cox a huge upgrade over Smith and Carroll
    2. Kyle Long LG -- Perfect fit for this offense
    2. Da'Rick Rogers - WR I doubt Miami takes the chance, but a real physical guy in the mold of Terrell Owens. Goodwin if Miami signs Jennings not Wallace.
    3. Chase Thomas LB -- Versatile, instinctive linebacker with pass rush abilities
    3. Paul Kruger DE -- Maybe the guy opposite Wake
    4. Devin Taylor DE/LB-- I'm intrigued by his upside and a good coaching staff can work with his talents.
    5. Marcus Lattimore RB-- Maybe he'll be like Frank Gore, who slipped to R3 for the 49ers due to injuries
    7. Brad Sorenson QB -- Don't think Miami will be able to keep Matt Moore
    7. Darius Slade CB -- A little slow, which drops him, but a playmaker

13-3.... potential SB appearance in the weak AFC... gap between us and NE and DEN is closed with my proposed (yet very realistic) offseason. depends what other teams do tho ya know?
