    Mingo at 4-3 OLB?

Whatching this kid move around and looking at his combine numbers, this kid IMO could be a damn good Misi replacement.

Olivier Vernon could be a candidate too I think, but he would probably need to lose 10 to 15 lbs to play regularly. He did pretty well at times when he was subbed in at OLB here and there. I cant remember if it was 3-4 or 4-3. I remember seeing him make plays down field in coverage and tackling.

Vernon and Mingo would be the perfect compliments to each other. One excels against the run (Vernon) the other excels as a pass rusher (Mingo). Problem is do you want that at #12 overall? Bruce Irvin was #15 overall last year and it worked out well for Seattle.

Also Misi played well last year . . . still a very underrated guy on this site, but he is entering the final year of his rookie deal and I'm just not sure where we stand with him and his future.

Misi is a good run defender but a liability in the pass game. The thing is I would put Mingo as a 4-3 OLB and then move him to DE in nickel similar to Von Milller. But I don't like him @ #12 at all

    Re: Mingo at 4-3 OLB?

Not a mingo fan at all...I think he is too tall to play olb in a 43 and he was lacking production as a 43 end...I think his best fit is a 34 olb. He could be a terror playing in that role..but I don't think he has a special get off like von miller has. Millers speed makes him dangerous...I know mingo is a fast straight line runner but I don't see the explosion out of the stance at all.

I like Mingo, he is a freak athlete. He is projected to be a mid-1st rd pick before his good show at the combine today...Wouldn't be suprised if the Fins took him.

You take Mingo opening up a type of Hybrid defense we could run. You have the standard 4-3, switch that to a 2-5 etc.

Mingo, Wake, Vernon, Dansby, Misi standing with Starks and Soliai on the line? etc etc.

At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul."

He might not have the "sack stats" but the guy has some terror ability off the edge. Best in this class.
