I really enjoy it. Best of luck with your decision.

I am still deciding what to do. A lot of ppl are telling me it is soo worth it. One of the reasons I want to get it is because of the lord of the rings trilogy. I heard it looks crazy good on blu ray and offers a lot more bonus material then dvd. Also the lincoln dvd has much less then the blu ray. Some say the dvd is just as good. I am worried cause I hear that dvd's will be dead soon like the vhs. Any advice I get I always take into account. Thanks again.

The picture is an upgrade over DVD. The real reason to buy Blu-Ray is the sound quality.

The Blu-Ray disc is formatted to play 5.1 channels as opposed to the 2.1 output of DVD.

If you get a Blu-Ray player, I recommend you buy a nice surround sound system (at least 5.1 channels) to enjoy the full qualities of the Blu-ray technology.

It's worth it. It's absolutely a better picture. Get the $5 HDMI cords, they're all the same. If you like gaming at all just get a PS3.

Will any hdmi cable work?the guy at Best Buy told me to buy 1 that cost 55 bucks. So what you are saying is that any generic cable will work.all I have to do is plug the cable from the Blu ray playerto the back port of the TV correct?

any lead will do, its basically the new version of a scart lead. Maybe the ezpensive ones are a little better... but my ps3 has always worked fine with one that cost 3 pounds on ebay.

Its also worth keeping in mind that you get different types of bluray players, I read recently that the one in the PS4 will be much better than the one in the PS3... I think it is to do with speed.

There is a slightly better picture but its marginal. I don't know that I would say it is worth the money. I would also add that the TV will determine the best quality picture more then the cables.

It may have one included. You can find cheap ones on ebay or amazon as well.
