Im convinced Ireland will draft OG Jonathan Copper.....convince me otherwise!

Ireland barring Ryan Tannehill (who ironically did start), has always drafted 1st pick for need, with the intention to start day 1. We have 2 needs at present OT/OG & CB.

I dont think anyone really believes that one of the 3 OT, Chance Warmack or Dee Milliner will drop to us at #12. That leaves two players. Jonathan Cooper or Xavier Rhodes.

One fits the scheme perfectly, the other doesn't. Cooper is perfect fit for ZBS, consistant and durable. With Incognito and Jerry both FA next year and less than ideal for system, in my mind it makes too much sense.

Im convinced come draft day Miami Dolphins select #12 OG Jonathan Cooper.

Anyone else have a more convincing argument?
Identify the 4 positions of strength in the draft, then double up on each........ if possible

Tailor Free Agency accordingly, so that your need is these 4 strengths

    2014 draft - RB - WR - OT - OG

    1-Carlos Hyde RB Ohio St.
    2-Marcus Martin OG/C USC
    3-Donte Moncrief WR Mississippi
    4-David Yankey OG Stanford
    5-Seantrel Henderson OT Miami
    6-Laurent Duvernay-Tardif OT McGill
7-Jeff Janis WR Saginaw Valley St.

I actually 100% agree, like the pick, and think he will give the O more opportunities.

    1. He took an interior lineman two years ago in RD 1.
    2. Lance Louis covers him at RG if Jerry does not shape up.
    3. OT is a glaring hole.
    4. He feels pressure do something dynamic on draft day.

I have a very strong feeling we will trade up for one the 3 OTs.

I agree that Cooper is definitely in the mix. Id be ok with that pick, but not sure about the other around here =/ . It will be the Pouncey pick all over again. Massive frustration and then 2 years later everyone will be perfectly happy we drafted him.

I doubt Cooper will be there at #42, but I bet he'll be there at #28 or 30. We are not taking him at 12, no way.

Two arguments from me. One, he's already off the board (Tennessee maybe). Two, Miami trades up and gets one of the offensive tackles (Lane Johnson).

But, if Cooper is staring them in the face at #12 I wouldn't be at all surprised if he becomes a Miami Dolphin. And you know what? That wouldn't be a bad pick as he is an absolute perfect fit for Philibin's offense.

The mock draft in your sig has convinced me otherwise.

I was also going to quote Pouncey pick much like you did, but did not want to put to much into opening thread, but 100% agree.

The mock draft in my sig is my preference. I am not GM.

I know somebody else who would celebrate the pick:
