Lindsey Graham: Obama Should Hold Bombing Suspect as ‘Enemy Combatant’

With the manhunt for Boston Marathon bombing suspect Dzhokhar Tsarnaev still underway, Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) on Friday called for him to be held as an "enemy combatant"- a term President Barack Obama abandoned shortly after taking office in 2009.

The "enemy combatant" designation was a major part of the Bush administration's approach to dealing with terrorism suspects; while Obama did away with the specific term, he maintained the right to detain people who provided "substantial" support to Al-Qaeda or the Taliban.

He is a enemy combatant and he should be held as such which gives us more latitude to interrogate him. Oh never mind you are more concerned with his rights!
The above post is not subject to penalty under the TOS I declare the Hayden Fox defense. " It is impossible for the staff to know my context therefore I cannot be penalized"

Timothy McVeigh was convicted. Let the system do it's job. If he's a citizen he should be afforded a trial, no matter how heinous his crime is. That's what is supposed to set America apart.

Here is the thing when they declare jihad they become a enemy combatant and that is how they should be tried. Look at it this way Underwear Bomber, Shoe Bomber and Times Square bomber yielded very little information under interrogation and now we are footing the bill for their life sentences in Super Max Prisions!

So I'm as white as the next guy. Total euro background. Lets say I walk into a mall, yell Allah and shoot 5 people. Should I be tried as an enemy combatant?

Saw this earlier. Graham deserves a censure for it, imo. It's literally against his oath of office to suggest such a thing.

People get all wrapped up in defending the 2nd amendment but will ignore the rest when it's convienent. Sorry, but those are the ones that are most important. The 2nd amendment by comparison is small potatoes compared to due process, search and seizure, self incrimination and freedom of speech.

If the evidence is as overwhelming against you as it is these jihads then yes. With what is been reported now about the older one it is without a doubt they are terrorist and the Constitution that our heroes die to defend Should not protect them.

So who arbitrarily decides who is acting on jihad and who is not?
