No. Actually Master Sgt. Grisham was arrested for his behavior.

This issue has been kicking around this week on another gun site I belong to. Basically (IMO) this boils down to a grandstanding asshat looking for trouble. When he finds it, he sets up a "legal defense fund" to solicit donations. This isn't the first time. MSG Grisham is apparantly known in the Temple, TX area for exhibiting this type of behavior, then scamming people for his financial benefit.

Then he goes on to spend the money on himself & his family. I'm not going to bother digging through that other thread looking for all of the links ... But basically, he went on facebook talking about how his wife was going to use the "legal defense fund" to pay for his daughter to go to prom.

It's grandstanding morons like this that give law abiding gun owners a bad name. I seriously wish he would just STFU already.

Something tells me if you take a look at the open carry laws you will find a few of them he broke. Now obviously the officer didn't use the best choice of words, but the 2nd Amendment doesn't give you the right to strap a rifle to your back and act like the village idiot!
The above post is not subject to penalty under the TOS I declare the Hayden Fox defense. " It is impossible for the staff to know my context therefore I cannot be penalized"

In Texas, IIRC, you can open carry a long gun.

Now...Again, as some people have said; This sort of "Trolling for trouble" smacks of hippie tactics to me.
    I find it abhorrent.

I read his arrest was within 1000ft of a airport if that's the case a b class misdemeanor is lucky

Not sure how true that part was, but I find it very interesting he is active duty and using his military status to solicite defense funds from the public. That is a clear violation of the military code of conduct I'm surprised the Army CID hasn't stepped in. That and it doesn't cost $11,000 to defend a B Misdemeanor

I've been intentionally avoiding this whole issue. I suppose I'll have to watch the video now.

My wife was having a coniption fit when I got home from work the other day over this.

    Alright. Here I go.

EDIT; I got 43 seconds in.

    **** that *******.

My thoughts are it is never a good idea to argue with someone carrying a badge, gun and the ability to ruin your life!

I got drawn down on by a old timer TXDPS Tropper when I showed him my CCP once.
    I'm like..."****! DON'T SHOOT ME!"

    *SHOWS HANDS*

I've found that cops are pretty much cooperative when you are abiding by the law, and
are respectful. Maybe that's just me. I rode around in NOLA after the storm through multiple
checkpoints with an AR 15 in full view as well as a 12 gauge on the other side. It's perfectly legal,
and I never got a single word said to me about it.

Other than that one instance, when my heart went right into my throat I've had no issues
carrying firearms around LEOs. It's a matter of how you carry yourself.

If you're looking for a fight, you'll get one.

If you act like you are a professional, or someone that's not a ****ing retard, you probably won;t.
